There is a small new mention today of actress Helen McCrory who will be seen as Narcissa Malfoy, mother of Draco, wife of Lucius and sister to Bellatrix Lestrange in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. In the know columnist Baz Bamigboye for the Daily Mail reports that Helen and the other Helen, Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix) had some fun while filming for HBP, noting " the pair enjoyed scaring fellow cast members and giving the crew a double fright." The brief article also states that indeed that acclaimed stage actress McCrory will return in her role as Narcissa for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Readers will recall of course, the dramatic and pivotal decision Narcissa makes at the end of the book. Quotage from The Daily Mail: "Ms McCrory will also feature in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows,
which is shooting until next year - although she will find time this
summer to portray Cherie Blair opposite (as this column revealed)
Michael Sheen as one T. Blair, plus Dennis Quaid and Julianne Moore as
Bill and Hillary Clinton, in Peter Morgan's The Special Relationship."

Well that’s good news. I think i’m going to like her in this movie, the way she looked in the trailer <3 YAY!!!! Omg, they must be a fright those two with their costumes and their hair and their demeanor, damnstraight.

She didn’t have too much else, more of a background character in the opening scene at the manor, and then the later scene with the trio at the manor and then her pivotal choice at the end. She looks fantastic as Narcissa… On another note do we know if they cast anyone in the role of Andromeda?

Yeah, when she whispers “is my son still alive” and Harry says “yes”. She helps him. So really SHES the real hero, bless her.

Well the news is coming thick and fast today, if they had tried to film DH without Narcissa I would have been quite cross, such an important moment when she lied to Voldemort as her love for her son gave her the strength to defy him, once again demonstrating the importance of a mother’s love and actually giving us another Slytherin who ultimately helped to defeat Voldemort.

I dunno much about her acting… looks kind of like Narcissa, not how I imagined though. I’m not a big fan of the brown streak… Anyway I’m sure she’ll be great! There are NO Harry Potter actors that are cast and stink :]!!!

Can’t get really excited at this point because we’ve not seen her yet, but at least she hasn’t decided to quit and not finish it out. It’s generally best to keep the originals and not switch out actors, I think.
