The BBC has a new video report online today from Freshwater Beach in Wales, where Shell Cottage is under construction for use in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. In the video, you can see construction work underway for the location filming which is due to begin with the cast on Monday, May 11th. During the course of the interview, BBC speaks to locals about concerns of the construction and the impact on the gorgeous beach locale in Wales, and also gives a hint for the upcoming location filming of Russell Crow’s Robin Hood, which will be filming in the same area a few months later. Be sure to check out our collection of photos of Shell Cottage under construction, newest ones here, including of the platform and nearby area that will be the site where Dobby is laid to rest.

Thanks Wendy

YES! Maybe, Alan Rickman can play the Sheriff of Nottingham in this new re-make. He played the sheriff in Kevin Costner's Robin Hood and Rickman was the only reason to watch that movie.Avatar ImageMatea says: BEAUTIFUL!Avatar Imagemoglet says: If that little grassy area is going to be Dobby's final resting place it looks quite appropriate, beautiful and peaceful, I'm nearly crying at the thought of that scene already!Avatar Imagemhaeyemhaeye says: Wow! Those are awesome photos (the new ones) and cool news too! Can't wait! :DAvatar ImageMoldywort17 says: I don't want Dobby to die! But anyway, awesome pics.Avatar Imagecheeserpleaser says: I am impressed by the location they have chosen and the house that they have designed! Good work to the crew. I am looking forward to seeing their finished product a couple of years from now. ;)Avatar ImageRita_Dumbledore94 says: Awesome... Good News ;-)Avatar Imagebudgie says: It is really looking like a "shell cottage".Avatar ImageHorcruxalej says: yay i like this part of the book i cant wait to watch the two DH.. but its still a long time away....Avatar ImageDanielaNC says: It looks really good. I specially like the beach; I hope they take advantage of it. I can really see Ron apparating there from Malfoy Mannor and desperately trying to get Hermione safe.Avatar Imageshellybasson says: I never imagined the Shell cottage to look this cool. I love the clam shells on the roof. :)Avatar Imagemollywobbles23 says: They call it "The Weasley's hideaway," so I'm thinking all the Weasleys will be there, not just Bill and Fleur (if Fleur is in it). Which takes away Ron being ashamed of going home to the Burrow...which kind of ticks me off. :/ Anyway, it looks fantastic. Avatar ImageWendelin the Weird says: Wow, it looks really beautiful!Avatar Imagemugglemom4 says: They are doing such a great job. I understand how the locals feel though. I would want some notice too. Avatar Imagesunshine123 says: it's not exactly how i imagined shell cottage and the surrounding area to look like but it still looks cool. only 10 days to go until we get to see them starting to film there for four whole days squeeeeeAvatar ImageIwishIwas@Hogwarts says: That is so awesome. Totally the setting I imagined. Its going to be sooo sad. Even sadder to think we may not see it in the movie for another 2 years. Depending on the split. AHHHHHHHHHAvatar Imageizziewitch says: Not really the setting I imagined from the book, esp Dobby's place of rest (sob), but it will look cool, I'm sure, in the movie. I thought of it as being really high up on a cliff, not so close to the sea.Avatar Imagemaimiaa says: love that location and the cottage. looks so amazing.Avatar Imagesirius17 says: woah thats crazy the whole roof is shells. I'm glad to see they putting so much work in this. Avatar ImageGarden State Geek says: The shell roof tiles are amazing. Avatar Imagefloridianhp says: X)Avatar ImageT-Vey says: The cottage is looking better & BETTER with every new pic or video!! I have to wonder though.... they wouldn't possibly imagine tearing down when they are done.. would they??Avatar Imageoldenoughtoknowbetter says: Very cool... DH can't get here fast enough and HBP isn't even out et!Avatar Imagephoenixes are in ravenclaw says: Do you think the "epic battle" will be when Bellatrix kills Dobby?? *sniff sniff* It would be very dramatic if Harry buries him on the beach! :'(Avatar Imageiconshero says: For Real, If i had a time machine i would use it for the sole purpose of seeing these movies right now!Avatar Imagehermyone08 says: Wooo hooo! :)Avatar Imagefbv807 says: yeesh, you'd think the BBC would've learned it's Rowling like Bowling by now??Avatar ImageShane says: Awesome. Can't wait to see how this turns out in the movie.Avatar Imageangelac123 says: Beautiful! :DAvatar Imagemuzic823 says: Every time I see this location, I just melt. It's so beautiful! They did a great job picking this site and building the cottage.Avatar Imagewandmastercalum says: Oh I hope the Robin Hood thing causes no bother.Avatar Imagejojojojo says: I live near in Pembrokeshire, about 15 miles from the site. Shell Cottage will be taken down after the filming, it's being built on National Park land, an area which has strict rules about what can and can't be built. This is to protect and preserve the wildlife and fauna found in the area. They've chosen this area because it is so unspoilt and beautiful, and they will want to leave it like they found it. I was also a little disappointed to hear that they are referring it as the Weasley's Hideaway, I really hate it when the film deviates from the book!! But on the plus side, it would be cool to see the all the other Weasley's in the area! I have a sneaking suspicion that Griphook won't be in the scene either, as Verne Troyer seems to be busy doing other things. Unless of course, they have someone else to play him. Robin Hood won't be any bother, as they are starting filming after HP finishes. (My bf is auditioning be an extra!!) Going to take a walk with the dog this weekend so I can have a good look, I can't wait to see it!!! I also plan to go down when they are filming, the beach is still open to the public while they are filming. Eeeeeeeeee!!!!!Avatar Imagebudb says: Hm, I wonder how the Shell Cottage will be worked into Torchwood or Dr. Who? Just as background I'd guess, simply as a visual joke?Avatar Imagebudb says: ah, just read jjpembs post immediately above.... oh well, there goes the idea of Captain Jack Harkness and the gang busing down the door in search of weevles...Avatar Imagejojojojo says: Wales is a big place y'know! The studios where they film Doctor Who is at least 200 miles away! ;)Avatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: it looks soooo good!!!Avatar Imagebudb says: chuckle, the Torchwood folks have done roadtrips before, so that's not far....you must admit, it would be funny, rather like the Shakespeare episode in Dr Who.... cheers, jj!Avatar ImageBewareoftheNargles says: Cool! Shell cottage is looking great!Avatar ImageCatherine says: awesome!Avatar ImageHeavenly_Horcrux says: I love those shells!Avatar ImageR-for-H says: AMAZING!
