Wizard Rock

As part of their coverage for the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, USA Today has a new article online featuring Wizard Rock. In this article (print version is half the page) you can see four bands profiled: The Remus Lupins, The Whomping Willows, Draco and the Malfoys and Harry and the Potters. In addition to the general info on each of the bands, sample lyrics, and a link to a Half-Blood Prince themed song, we learned how each of the groups greeted the arrival of the Prince in theaters.
For example: those crazy Slytherin kids, the Malfoys, decided not join with the masses in seeing the movie, with Brian Ross of the group quipping “We are much more about the books rather than the movie.” Conversely both the Lupins (Fight with Love) and Willows (of the House of Awesome), who are currently on tour with PotterCast and will be appearing this weekend at Azkatraz, performed to crowds at a large all-day release event in Los Angeles. The always humorous and original Potters did something a bit less traditional, with the piece noting Paul and Joe DeGeorge “played an early evening acoustic show at a cave in
Purgatory Chasm State Reservation, near Sutton, Mass., then joined fans
at a local theater to watch the film.”
