I don’t understand those people! It’s BETTER to see any movie (and HBP in particular) at a theatre! It’s a shame. :(

I hate it when people think that buying a pirated movie isn’t wrong, they say things like “well the film studios have got lots of money” which is hardly justification anyway, it’s still theft. There is a whole industry involved and if the companies don’t make the money they can’t invest in so many new films and ultimately a lot of people could end up out of work.

Uggh!! HATE movie pirates.

i’ll sometimes watch it on the internet,,but i dont really feel bad because i’ve seen it three times in the theater, plan to see it more, and always buy the highest edition of the movies…its more for people who will JUST watch the illegal copy.

But piracy is never the answer, why settle for lesser quality?
WB spent big bucks to make the movie as beautiful and spectacualr as it is, the least people can do is wait and spend a few buck on the official release.

It’s pretty cheap of these people – and the quality is usually low. Just wait, buy it later. Same with music – if it doesn’t make money, it will stop being produced. People never thought it would happen with newspapers, but look what’s happening. If all these newspapers go under, who is going to write the news? Real journalists aren’t going to work for free, and bloggers are more opinion than news. Oh well, we’ll see what the future holds.

If you’ve seen the movie twice in theaters and plan to buy the dvd when it comes out, I’d hardly call it stealing if you decide to download the movie to watch it once or twice more before the DVD comes out.

bah, potter fans who get into pirating the movies aren’t that big of fans, I mean, would you go steal one of the books? Besides, quality on those copies is horrible. :P

The films first week is one of the most financially successful, so no, I don’t buy that it “not only hurts sales but also affects budgets for future films and more.”

Ok, I agree that piracy is wrong and illegal. But we aren’t going to stop it. I am afraid the music industry and the film industry should consider better business plans for the future to plan for this as I only see it getting worse. They have tried to encrypt, that doesn’t last long. They have tried prosecuting, but it is so rampant they will never get to everyone. The buiness model may well have to adapt. I think television is trying to make great strides with these by supporting things like Hulu.

Augh. Piracy absolutely disgusts me. It bothers me so much that someone would stoop to that level to obtain these films. Why would you even want that poor quality of a film? I find it really offensive. As one of the “little guys” in entertainment…just a scene planner/compositor on The Simpsons, I always feel when anyone steals any movie that it’s a personal attack on all of us. It disregards our labor. It’s not even about the money. How could you do that to me? It’s not fair. That’s not how you treat people.

I’m glad they put this video together. I think they definitely need to focus more on the rest of the crew though, to get the most compassion. Hopefully they’ll wake some people up and maybe make others guilty.

I don’t think true Harry Potter fans would steal the movie, it’s more the casual movie goer, but we should still defend our beloved films! No one should be doing this.

The official movies and videos reward the people who make them. That reward is why they exist in the first place.
