There are now only 82 days left until “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” hits theaters! We are posting a quote from the first half of the book every day in celebration and to give us a chance to discuss and ponder the final book as it goes to film. Here is today’s quote!

“Come out of there with your hands up!” came a rasping voice through the darkness. “We know you’re in there! You’ve got half a dozen wands pointing at you and we don’t care who we curse!”

– Fenrir Greyback

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, “The Deathly Hallows”

Avatar ImageValeria-Johanna says: The subtle approach.Avatar ImageSlyBones says: My heart was in my throat from this point forth. Like throughout the entire interrogation and then Malfoy Manor all leading up to the loss of Dobby. :(Avatar Imageforgetmenot_007 says: It gave me a shiver while reading the book...whoa!Avatar Imagedoughboy6390 says: Gosh I could not put the book down after this. Malfoy Manor was one of the most intense parts with Hermione being tortured. The image Fenrir is cool.Avatar Imagefinley says: was this bit whenthey were in the tent?Avatar Imagejimmalou78 says: You know, most people focus on Voldemort and Bellatrix as the 2 'big bads' of Harry Potter, but Greyback is as bad as they are. Anyone that would purposely put himself near children at the full moon is a whole different kind of horrible. It doesn't say if he was killed at the end of the battle; just 'taken down'. I dearly hope that he did die, or at least spent the rest of his life in Azkaban!Avatar ImageAsta says: That was a kind of "heartbeat-skipping moment"... There was no way they could escape...and the Snatchers are almost as bad as Death-eaters...Avatar ImageMaxtina Potter says: My whole body froze at this moment! OH MY GOD! and mom froze too when she was reading the DH.... Horrible feeling when they got caught!Avatar ImageGraymayne says: Thank goodness Hermione was a fast thinker, disguising Harry with a disfiguring spell! Their treatment would probably have been harsher if the Snatchers had known who it was that they had captured.Avatar ImageGryffindor_Girl_xx says: I couldn't turn the pages quick enough after I read those lines!!! I was so scared for them and I was desperate to see what had happened!!! But I still don't know why they didn't Disapparate from inside the tent though. I mean, the protective charms had been lifted and the Snatchers wouldn't have seen them do it so there was nothing stopping them ... Ah well, great quote! Love it!! x)Avatar Imageblessi says: Nice.. Wow. this is the part that I laugh so much about the trio because they invent some names. am I right>? I think it is really. I love it wow!Avatar Imagemark707 says: i was so scared when i read these linesAvatar Imagekatherine102678 says: This was a very scary part of the book.Avatar Imageazaadpotter says: Heart stopping situationAvatar Imageeccentricalice says: This was utterly terrifying as a reader.Avatar Imagethat granger girl says: God that part is scary! I was thinking BLOODY HELL!Avatar ImageSilvery Doe says: Greyback thinks he's all-that-and-a-bag of chips but really he's just a bully who's very low in the pecking order. In the Malfoy Manor scenes, we see that no one is safe from Voldermort's wrath as the Malfoy's are broken and downtrodden and probably regretting their involvement with the Deatheaters. That, I appreciated. Avatar Imagewhyalltheglitter says: It was so... Scary! It certainly made you even more worried for the Trio!!! Avatar ImageLillylove says: As I was reading this, my mind kept screaming, "Oh NO, oh NO!!!!"Avatar ImagePaintTheSky says: I had the weirdest 'Deathly Hallows' dream last night. The trio were taking a break and getting some food at a muggle store across from a beach. Hermione was talking on a cell phone outside with her mum (which wouldn't make sense because of obvious circumstances). Then all of a sudden it became very cold, glaciers began to form in the water and it began to snow. Some odd masks in the shop began to talk, Harry and Ron knew magic was involved and they run outside to find Death Eaters converging on the scene. The trio then disapparated running into the wall of a nearby shop and came out from another wall in a tiny Irish village. Then the whole thing switched to Harry and me looking for an apartment. Told you it was weird.Avatar Imagehalfbloodprincesss says: ohmygosh when Harry said Voldemort right before this quote my heart like skipped a few beats, i still shiver when he says it...Avatar Imageliterarynerd says: I felt the need to pee myself when I read this part of the book. Well... maybe not quite, but you get it.Avatar Imageliterarynerd says: I felt the need to pee myself when I read this part of the book. Well... maybe not quite, but you get it.Avatar Imagez999993 says: I have to agree with Astha, with this part being a "heartbeat-skipping moment". With the snatchers, death eaters, and being captured and taken to Malfoy Manor it was definitely very scary. I was getting worried at this part in the book whether they would get out of it, but of coarse most of the book was still left so i knew something would happen to save the trio. As to the lines i bet Greyback would have been killed if Voldemort found out that he cursed Harry Potter. (or again maybe not). P.S. I think they're beginning to fall behind with the quotes. Wasn't this supposed to be yesterdays? Avatar ImageVincenza says: Greyback is definitely a scary character.Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: .....and we don't care who we curse.....{shiver}Avatar ImageAmber_Dale says: I was like NO you can't capture Harry!Avatar Imagehermy007 says: now that's a creepy picture. ive never actually seen that one before, or maybe i just have a bad memory. i remember thinking right at this part, oh crap, what are they going to do now? when hermione was being tortured, i was trying to convince myself that j.k wouldn't kill her off, but that was hard considering bellatrix was the one doing the torturing and harry and ron couldn't escape the cellar...when dobby came, i was completely floored. i absolutely can't wait to see this on film! this is going to be one of the top scenes ill be looking for in part 1. 81 days!Avatar ImageWeenyOwl says: I second jimmalou78 's comment that Greyback is as big a bad guy as Voldemort and Bellatrix. He may wield a lot less power in the Death Eater hierarchy, but I actually found him more frightening in a way, and definitely more disgusting. Voldemort's evil nature to me seems so absolute as to be almost abstract - he's a 'personification of Evil' like the Devil or Sauron, so as a reader I just experience him as a sort of metaphor. And Bella's sadism and slavish devotion to Voldemort are so over-the-top that she becomes almost a cartoon baddie - especially as portrayed by Helena Bonham Carter. The physical descriptions of Greyback, on the other hand, with his breath smelling like blood and the sores around his mouth and so on, along with his statements about wanting to eat children, are so repulsive that they give me a real visceral sense of revulsion everytime I read those passages. The photo of his makeup in the movie does not nearly capture the creepiness of that character as I envision him. And writing this just made me realize a parallel construct that I hadn't noted before: Greyback's drooling over Hermione's soft skin as a really sick echo of the scene in the Gryffindor dormitory where Ron awkwardly says that Hermione has 'nice skin' (I think that's only in the movie version, though).Avatar ImageLost Northern says: hahaha that my favorite part of the book the malfoy manoryAvatar Imageharrypotterfreak101 says: One of my fave chapters in this part.......Malfoy Manor!Avatar ImageAsria says: Soon, soon now!Avatar Imagehermy007 says: holy crap weenyowl, you're right. that's just plain revolting. i wonder if he'll be at malfoy manor, or the part where the snatchers catch the trio, leaky didn't mention that in any reviews, neither did mugglenet.Avatar ImageNot Slytherin says: This was another one of those moments where you just cannot see how they can escape. It was crazy-exciting!! LOL, Valeria-Johanna.Avatar ImageDawna says: Such a scary moment!Avatar ImageMudblood_and_proud says: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book!!!!!!!! is legendary!!!! couldn't put it down!!!!!!!!! cannot WAIT for the movieee!!!!!!!!!!!Avatar Imagenimbus2010 says: I was literally holding my breath at that scene.Avatar ImageSindi says: Scary! Avatar Imagehermionenluna says: uhh creeper!! Avatar Imagemaddison says: REALLY SCARYAvatar ImageMJBDE15 says: For some reason I always find this quote amusingAvatar Imageblackhair says: That was creepy But i somehow wanted them to escape from being caughtAvatar Imageblackhair says: Fenrir I hate himAvatar ImageSusmita singh says: Yes,this was the time i could not dare read ahead for some time i kept the book shut and just thought what if anything went wrong.my heart was in my throat and i thanked Malfoy for not telling their identity.Obviously they made their escape but it cost Dobby's loss.really a terrifying chapter.well, yeah 82 days .Avatar ImageNumeroUnoFan says: show stopper for realAvatar ImageNumeroUnoFan says: still awesome moment thoughAvatar Imageksddancer says: Heart pounding part where you wondered if they would get caught ro get away.Avatar ImageWON_TWO says: 82 Whoo Hoo...Avatar ImageLonewolf_ says: My heart did almost stop when I read this the first time!Avatar ImageGryffindor Lioness101 says: Fenrir is terrifiing!
