There are now only 65 days left until “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” hits theaters! We are posting a quote from the first half of the book every day in celebration and to give us a chance to discuss and ponder the final book as it goes to film. Here is today’s quote!

They did not discuss Ron at all over the next few days. Harry was determined never to mention his name again, and Hermione seemed to know that it was no use forcing the issue, although sometimes at night when she thought he was sleeping, he would hear her crying.

I suspected he would, but you can never be sure until you read, can you?Avatar Imagetjerriam says: oh..hermione...:( T_T I_IAvatar Imagedaldula says: Poor Hermione she seems the only one who did not lose her mind on this journeyAvatar ImageFleur-de- Lily says: Ohh, poor Hermione! I dont like that part! Avatar Imagesnunkiebrian says: I can totally sympathise with Hermione here, i thought it was a very touching quote and shows how important the trio are as a trio.Avatar ImageJK.jr. says: This was my least favorite part of the book :'(Avatar ImageTheGleek77 says: awe I loved but hated that part..you could see how much Hermione Loved Ron :) but she was soo sad it was horrible :\Avatar ImageSilvery Doe says: This was really sorrowful but it's always darkest before the dawn. And I must have missed this when I first read it but did Ron come back because they finally said his name? Someone alluded to this point on another quote and was wondering about that.Avatar ImageManveer says: @Silvery Doe No he realised his Mistake and moreover brought a wand for HarryAvatar ImageDawna says: I hated this part! So sad....and I begged a friend to tell me if Ron came back, but she wouldn't! Reading again for 6th time, hate to see it cooming, but I know he comes back now.Avatar Imagewhyalltheglitter says: Awwww.... I hated this part, I have to say. It was just so sad. I refused to believe that Ron actually left, but then I realized... Well, at least he came back. It just shows the bond that is their friendship...Avatar ImageSohumdore says: :((Avatar Imagediv says: these was 1 of the part in the hp series i din njoy...:( i jus wished Ron to com back as soon as possible.. the trio was incomplete without Ron.. Avatar Imagemystiqueminx says: Oh poor Hermione, i felt nad for her but i like this part as it shows how much hermione loves Ron,, very heart wrenchingAvatar ImageSmitch says: This is a poignant part in the series, and in this novel alone. It just shows how dark the times were, and how they were deeply affecting everyone, especially the trio. It also showed how mature these young characters were becoming, and how their love had grown, especially for Ron and Hermoine, in the romantic sense. You really feel their pain. I strongly believe a relationship strengthens through obstacles, and Ron and Harry had reached new heights. Their arguement exemplified how they were brothers - not through blood, like Ron rudely reminded Harry, only once - but through heart. I loved how Ron was lurking outside their tent for several days before they actually discovered him. He realized his mistake, and it was brave of him to return, however heated the argument and cowardly the decision in the beginning. They were so young, though, and often times emotion is the first to take over when experiencing that much frustration, anger, and fear. I loved this part. It was a turning point in their lives. Can you imagine the fear and anxiety they had while camping out, just the three of them, for that long? Not even knowing the fate of their families and friends? Wow. Avatar ImageSusmita singh says: Poor Hermione. She loved Ron very much and i hate Ron here.Avatar ImageCharlieNevin says: If only they had said his name! And not been so paranoid...He would have been back sooner...Avatar ImageWeenyOwl says: Silvery Doe asks: 'Did Ron come back because they finally said his name?' It was when they said his name that Ron suddenly began to hear their voices out of the Deluminator, as if it were a radio (a wireless to you Brits), and then it began to emit the ball of light that enabled him to locate them. So yes, although as Manver points out Ron had already wanted to go back by that point, it was their use of his name that triggered the Deluminator's deeper level of magical potential and made his return possible.Avatar Imagejeannemcl says: I wouldn't be 17 again for anything!!!Avatar Image2tal says: The journey the tale takes in the first half of DH was terrible! I remember wanting to savor the last book so I was determined to read it slowly and take it all in. But, up to the point at which Ron returns, is one heart wrenching step after another. The way each character grows through the books is really grand in scope. They are all just 17 at this point and have been fighting for their lives for a long time - often just the three of them together or alone. This point in the tale was one of the saddest.Avatar ImageBeckC333 says: Awww soo sad .......poor HermioneAvatar ImageIssa says: you guys are 2 days behind the actual countdown. Today there is 63 days till the movie not 65. you keep confusing me. But at that point in the book i think JK Rowling mad the relationships pretty obivous. And poor heartbroken HermioneAvatar Imagefindthefourth says: *sad face*Avatar Imageforgetmenot_007 says: That was really unfortunate...I was so angry with Ron,but I forgave him when he came back...well,at least he came back!Avatar ImageHarrypotterultrafan says: Awwwwwww i felt so sorry for hermione:'( @silverydoe, i thought ron wanted to come back anyway but heard his voice throught the deluminator(Y)Avatar Imageforevertonks says: Hermione knows what shes has to do and this shows her strength. She cant be with the one she loves but she can do what she needs to....A new side of Hermione that we don't usually see...Avatar ImageBless_the_children says: I thought JK Rowling really did a great job with this part of the book, where she said Ron was the last of the trio to really grow up. He has to leave, and feel the weight of the regret, and then face his fears in the locket to become a man. I though it went well with the second half of the book when Harry matures after Dobby's death when he finally mastered his impulsiveness.Avatar ImageAl Sev Potter says: Loved this part! Things were at such a down side for Harry, he lost Kreacher, had a fight with Lupin, couldn't find the sword, and now the thing we trusted most in, the friendship of Harry, Ron and Hermione was broken. Never did i ever imagine that they would reach such a low point and to recover from it was nearly unimaginable. Well done JK for such an emotional rollercoasterAvatar ImageGryffindor_Girl_xx says: aww, poor Herm x( so sad x(Avatar ImageLonewolf_ says: I was so angry at Ron when he left xdAvatar ImageLost Northern says: i like so much hermione ans seriously each part of the book who talk about her are awesome and this is so true GO emma watson you have the best role in the story.Avatar ImageLost Northern says: seriously when ron came back i was in the side of hermione kick him yes but i would like to see her kick him in the nuts and now i would be satisfied completely just one in the nust and a girl like me is happy for a year XD its a good souvenir.Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: Sad, sad part!!Avatar Imagez999993 says: So sad and heartbreaking. Ron and Hermione belong together. Avatar ImageDejiaGray says: i was so pissed at Harry during this part that i wouldn't pick up the book until a half hour had passed and there was a hole in my wallAvatar ImageMaxtina Potter says: Oh, I was SO angry at Ron! How could he leave Harry and Hermione like that?! But I also like it how Harry & Hermione's relationship changes during the time Ron's gone. They would fall in love if Ron hadn't come back (JK Rowling said that). It was so logical because they both lost the people they truly loved and they wanted to fill the empty places in their hearts... I'm not a Harry/Hermione shipper, but that's just the truth, Glad Ron came back though!Avatar ImageMaxtina Potter says: @DejiaGray: You were pissed at HARRY?!! You meant RON, right?!Avatar Imagehewy says: She was so heart broken poor girl but she did get even when he came back!Avatar ImagethelonglostWeasley says: I dont like this part but I dont hate it cuz if Ron hadnt left who would have saved Harry, so it all fits together and I think its makes their friendship stronger some what and shows how good their friendship already is. But I also love how angry Hermione is at Ron I think it shows how much she loves him!!! :)Avatar Imageharrypotterfreak101 says: I hated it when Ron and Harry fought. It wasn't right, in times like these Harry needed his friends. But it wasn't Ron's fault either, it was Tom Riddle's Horcrux! Poor Hermione, she had always liked Ron. When they finally get together and Ron realises he has strong feelings for Hermione; he leaves her.Avatar Imageabandonedboyjon says: just, horrible. after everything hermione does, her greatest sacrifice is how she shouldered the burden with no complaint. she truly was, emotionally, the backbone of the trio. a lot of people say they'll do you a solid and then find a way to let you know how horrible it is for them, but this passage articulates so beautifully not only her quiet sufferings, but harry's understanding of them.Avatar ImageSlyBones says: Godric's Hollow was an intense chapter.Avatar Imagemollyollyoxenfree8 says: I felt soooo bad for Hermione at that part. But then he came back and she beat him up. Now that was kinda funny.Avatar Imagemollyollyoxenfree8 says: I felt soooo bad for Hermione at that part. But then he came back and she beat him up. Now that was kinda funny.Avatar ImageDumblebridge says: If Ron hadn't left in the first place perhaps he would have been there to remind Harry to take off the Horcrux before diving into the pool! Isn't it amazing how some beautiful intelligent women fall for men who aren't worthy to clean their shoes. Hermione knows this, but she can't help herself. Ron saved Harry from drowning, but Hermione drowned in Ron. :)Avatar ImageSnarkySnape says: poor hermione and harry.. its hard having a friend turn their back on you when you need them! Thank goodness he returns!!Avatar ImageSnarkySnape says: poor hermione and harry.. its hard having a friend turn their back on you when you need them! Thank goodness he returns!!Avatar Imagemaddison says: Awwwww poor Hermione !!!!Avatar Imageginnyshiel says: But Ron left them because he wore the horcrux that intensifies his fear an anger.Avatar ImageNot Slytherin says: I was so angry at Ron for walking out, and I was so sad for Hermione. It just felt like the whole Horcrux search was falling apart with no hope for success.Avatar Imagelilycullen_1997 says: aw i don't like this bit i find it funny when he comes back and hermione just keeps on hitting himAvatar ImageNumeroUnoFan says: sad about ron i didnt think they would find him againAvatar Imagehewastheirfriend says: I both hated and loved this part! Part of me wanted to slap Ron for leaving and the other part knew that he had to come back... He and Hermione were totally meant to be together!
