I'm going to watch it now, yay!Avatar ImageParkinsonpansy says: I love J.k Rowling and oprah together!!Avatar ImageNot Slytherin says: Great! Thanks, Leaky! I saw the interview today, but this is awesome!!! One thing I loved about the interview was the fact that, for once, Oprah was interviewing a PEER -- another woman who has had the same level of success that she has. I think Jo is a total class act. :o)Avatar Imagesgreeter8888 says: Thank you so much Leaky!! I wouldn't have gotten to see this otherwise and I am so excited. You guys are the best! :-D!!Avatar ImageElphabaROCKS1 says: Ah! Thanks Leaky! Now I can watch it again and catch everything I missed!Avatar Imagethundermountain7 says: Notslytherin i agree with you so much. I loved the interview i was awesome. Avatar Imageazaadpotter says: Thanks guys. i was looking forward for it since ages.Avatar Imagewordsaremagic says: excellent -- a woman of real practical wisdom. I really enjoyed the interviewAvatar Imageigo2pigfarts says: I love her so much.Avatar ImageSlyBones says: ^_^Avatar Imagesgreeter8888 says: Just finished watching. I think I liked the last part of the interview the best where they talked about their common ground. Very interesting. Avatar Imageathena lupen says: i cant wait to watch itAvatar ImageGingergirl26 says: wow Jk Rowling is amazing!! I could honestly listen to her talk all day..I love how she is so passionate in everything she talks about. Such a great role model! Avatar Imagevicki_the_house_elf says: I just finished watching it too. It was fantastic! Jo spoke so openly and honestly, it was absolutely fascinating and made me cry quite a few times. What a wonderful, beautiful woman she is! I LOVED the last bit where Jo said that a fan came up to her and told her that she was her childhood. I desperately wish i'd read the books when i was a child, i was 9 when Philosophers Stone came out and i know i would have adored it! Whenever i read the books now i pretend i'm that 9 year old girl who loved magic, goblins and fairies. The writer i associate my childhood with is Roald Dahl, but i know for sure that i will be reading the Harry Potter books for the rest of my life, to my children, then to my grandchildren. I wish i could tell her how much her books mean to me. Thank you Leaky, thank you Oprah for asking such interesting and engaging questions and thank you (from the very bottom of my heart) J.K Rowling <3Avatar Imagenealiezealbie says: thanks leaky!!! i was only able to catch half of the interview! this is lovely. :)Avatar Imageakcorr says: I uploaded these to YT in 720p for all my fellow HP/JK fans! Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 6 - Imagemollywobbles23 says: Yay! I was out today and totally missed it. I absolutely adore her. It was so nice to listen to her speak again. I wish I could tell her what the books mean to me, but for some reason I can't even send a letter. I always feel so weird about fan mail, so I never send it. Maybe one day.Avatar Imagemolly43 says: I've just looked at the taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show and could not stop smiling, shaking my head in agreement, tearing and being overjoyed at the things they said and the bond that Oprah and JKR shared. I had often thought of writing to the two of them and saying tht they should talk to each other because they are so alike in so many ways. Today is a day that I never thought I'd see. I was really excited when JKR said that she would not rule out a sequel to HP. She didn't say that she would write one but she would not say tht she would not. I hope they make a DVD of the show so I can take it with me wherever I go. I loved the interview, the beautiful views of Scotland and the insert clips. Thanks Leaky for letting me know about the interview. Avatar ImageNoble Birth Descending says: Thank you for posting this!!!! I had to pick the kids up at school when it was on TV here. Jo and Oprah seem like kindred souls!Avatar Imageeimrad says: After watching this I went back and read a couple of chapter of the first book to see if I could catch any of her struggle in the words. I did but I think I could pull anything out of her words.Avatar ImageDespina says: I loved the way Jo questioned Oprah! And her shoes were just amazing! But I think she didn't reveal anything we didn't already know, did she?Avatar Imagehermione198k says: Thank you so much Leaky for getting this in your video galleries! I loved the interview! It was so nice to see these two awe inspiring people talk to each otherAvatar Imagehonigmuffin says: You guys are awesome! Thank you =DAvatar ImagePetra says: I cried when she was talking about dedication of the 7th book and that girl coming up to her and saying: "You are my childhood!" My favourite interview ever!!! Avatar ImageHarrypotterultrafan says: Wow! It really was amazing!!! :) it's quite hard to believe that iAvatar ImageHarrypotterultrafan says: Wow! It really was amazing!!! :) It's quite hard to believe that if JK Rowling hadn't have got on that train, Harry Potter might not have been here today! A whole new world has been created from just the mind of 1 person!! JK Rowling........... you are amazing!! :):)Avatar ImageDawna says: Its on my DVR...cant wait to see it!Avatar Imageglow_freak says: My family usually teases me about my love of Harry Potter, but as I was watching this, they all slowly came in and sat down and watched it with me and afterwards we all sat around and talked about JK, her struggles, and the books. The best part was when my brother quoted her Harvard speech and how rock bottom became the solid foundation she built her new life on - he really took it to heart. That's why I love JK - she can bring people together and touch them in ways that'll she never even know about.Avatar Imagerotfang07 says: Fantastic Leaky staff, thanks and well done!! Amazing to get it posted so quickly and a genuinely good interview and programme. Avatar Imageroonwit says: Note there are links to some extra footage on the show's website at ImageNevilla says: Oprah is not my favorite interviewer. She got too whiny and sappy about the "travails of being rich." But that's not JKR's fault. I hope she does write more HP books someday. That would be great. Avatar Imageazna70 says: Oh Jo ,i wish you would write at least one more book and put us out of our misery.Your honesty is so refreshing.xAvatar ImageMatea says: wonderful interview! love the fact that Jo talked so much more than Oprah, which is not always the case with Oprah. It feels so great to hear from her again. and it just feels like it isn't over. I'm 20 now, and I really hope, that in 10 years or so, Jo announces new HP journey. I'd probably be the happiest 30-year-old on the planet. sadly,we didn't find out about her upcoming books. nor did Oprah mentioned any fan stories. and I'm sure she received about 100 000 emails. thank you Jo,I really hope I'll meet you someday. it must be the best feeling in the world, meeting your hero. Avatar Imageratorr2 says: It was a really good interview. I was really hoping for some news on what she's writing now and how it's coming along. She did mention something about an encyclopedia, a children's book, and a mystery a few years ago. I'm guessing she might publish the last 2 under a pen name if she finished them, but I know we all would like to know about the HP encyclopedia.Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: Saw it! Great! J.K. Rowling is awesome!Avatar Imagejacket says: I've taped it but I haven't watched it yet! can't wait to see it!Avatar Imagelisamiamoore says: Almost daily, I ask myself, what would Harry Potter do. After the interview, I realize I am really asking what would J.K. Rowling do. She has such wisdom, courage and integrity. Can't decide on a favorite bit. It was all good. Avatar Imageksddancer says: Thanks you very much leaky! I kept looking for this!Avatar Imagemystiqueminx says: Thanks a lot Leaky !!Avatar ImageBlutiful says: It was a really good interview to watch. And, I'm expecting another great book by Jo.Avatar Imageharrypotterfreak101 says: Awesome!Avatar ImageOh Neville says: @akcorr -- Thank you, thank you, thank you for uploading! For some reason, I couldn't "get" the entire interview from the Leaky -- it kept stopping at +/-12 minutes, complete with the "share" and "replay" buttons. And it *was* a wonderful interview. Oprah interrupted too much, but JKR still got her words out. Much respect for JKR. Avatar ImageJillxoxo says: For someone who doesn't feel at ease with public speaking, Jo always does a fabulous job! Great interview!Avatar ImageOh Neville says: @roonwit -- thanks for the extra vid. I knew there had to be some someplace! Avatar ImageBellatricksthestrange says: Jo is such an amazing person. She's so wise. The way that she spoke about love was beautiful and nearly made me cry. I never truly understood what love was, how strong it could be, until I found my husband and we had our first child together. There is NOTHING in the world that is stronger than a mother's love for her child. I can attest to that. I've never been the type to cry much either, but I have literally wept since I gave birth to my son, out of sheer joy and the pain of feeling as much love as I do for him. I never knew that she was estranged from her father. I haven't spoken to my father in a few years. I have never felt closer to Jo than I did while I watched that.Avatar Imagehepburn says: Wow! It was such a good interview! Thanks a lot for posting it. I love listening to JK Rowling, she's really interesting.Avatar Imageartdjmaster says: Almost everything in this interview has been said before. I still loved seeing Jo on Oprah and glad that she was able to do it on her last season. Avatar Imagetibby71 says: It's so amazing! I've never seen any famous person speaking so honestly... she is fantastic and I'll never stop admiring her, for who she is and what she's done... thank you, Mrs. Rowling!Avatar Imagelunaisawesome says: great, my stupid tv wont record, so now i can see it!Avatar ImageLonewolf_ says: I'm going to watch it now :)Avatar ImageBellatricksthestrange says: Oprah really isn't a very good interviewer, though. She asked some weird questions, kept interrupting Jo, and she compared herself to Jo a little bit too much. Oprah isn't anywhere near as talented, intelligent, or wise as Jo is.Avatar ImageLonewolf_ says: I just saw the interview, and I really liked it :) I also noticed that a few things have been said before, as Artdjmaster wrote here. Avatar ImageMr. Brightside says: Thanks Leaky! I will watch it asap! Although i've already read it :pAvatar Imagehewy says: Saw it on TV and again on the video (without commercial interruptions) and it was just as inspiring. And yes she is my childhood since as a child with eye problems, reading was not something I would do as it gave me headaches. These books are a god send!!! As is JK Rowling!!!!! Many thanks for all she had done and will hopefully do in the future!!!!Avatar Imagemolly43 says: I Oprah is a great interviewer. Just as Jo said in the interview. It didn't feel like an interview. It felt like two people having a conversation to paraphrase what she said. Which meant that Jo enjoyed the interview and didn't feel that Oprah was a bad interviewer. I enjoyed the interview and intend to look at it many times more because I enjoyed the way the two of them seemed to click. They may have talked over each other like two friends who are excited about something that they have in common - and that is to mean- two intelligent women who have come from rags to riches and who are very charitable. It's not a contest but an enjoyment- sort of like HP going to Hogwarts for the first time . Avatar ImageNumeroUnoFan says: glad someone postedAvatar ImageRosie016 says: I have to admit I was dissapointed with this, it was not what I thought it was going to be. Still interesting to hear such candid conversation between the two.
