There are now only 12 days left until “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” hits theaters! We are posting a quote from the first half of the book every day in celebration and to give us a chance to discuss and ponder the final book as it goes to film. Here is today’s quote!

“After you left,” he said in a low voice, grateful for the fact that Ron’s face was hidden, “she cried for a week. Probably longer, only she didn’t want me to see. There were loads of nights when we never even spoke to each other, With you gone . . .”

He could not finish; it was only now that Ron was here again that Harry fully realized how much his absence had cost them.

“She’s like my sister,” he went on. “I love her like a sister and I reckon she feels the same way about me. It’s always been like that. I thought you knew.”

Avatar Imageradishraven says: first. I feel so sad for everyone in the trio at this moment. Hermione for ron leaving, ron for thinking he was betrayed and harry for being in the middle. Avatar Imagecharissekin says: This is after the locket has done its dirty work..playing on the minds of the young teens. Things have to get better. So emotional.Avatar ImageValeria-Johanna says: I find this whole chapter very moving.Avatar Imagehermione198k says: This is one of my favourite parts of the book. Avatar Imagechikitcorpuzvesterbaek says: This scene is not about magic at all - it's about human relations, how we are all victims to our emotions. Avatar Imagewootwootsugaplum says: i feel so bad for Ron here. really good part of the bookAvatar ImageSigourney1990 says: Aw, love this bit. I was so glad when Ron came back, I always thought he would. This whole chapter was amazing <3 I can't believe DH has come around so quickly! I remember when the countdown was at 100.Avatar ImageExpectoPatronum512 says: awww <3Avatar Imagehousemusicbori says: HP<3Avatar Imageginny_weasley1998 says: aww great quote!! <3Avatar Imagetealover says: The combination of emotions and magic make this scene so powerful. Who of us as a young person didn't experienced the insecurities and emotions that come with falling deeply in love and fearing it's loss? It is hard enough to deal with as a Muggle - imagine trying to wrap your head around it with a bit of an evil wizard's soul trying to posses you! If this scene is in the movie, I hope they didn't change Harry's words - they were perfect. "I thought you knew" - love that! Avatar Imagereadthroughthenight says: Thankyou JK Rowling. Avatar ImageMaryMalfoy says: One of my favorite parts in the book. The "I thought you knew" line was so powerful. Avatar ImageGryffipuff says: I agree with what everyone's been saying about this quote. Harry's line is so perfect, and I just have complete faith that Dan will do it justice. He's been a fantastic Harry so far. Don't let us down! :) This is most definitely my favorite chapter in this book, followed possibly by Shell Cottage. Both are very emotional and it's quite difficult to get through them without bawling your eyes out. I feel for each and every one of them in these chapters. I love this book and am so very excited for the movie! 12 DAYS! I can't believe it. Avatar Imageharrypotterfreak101 says: That was a powerful moment in the book. Ron was just jealous and that brought hin nowhere.......Avatar Image2tal says: Boys aren't particularly emotionally sharp at this age; something on the order of a teaspoon. Ron epitomizes this in the books until this point where his understanding really begins. There was a time where I thought the end of this chapter would be where the two movies were divided but I am glad it is the end of Shell Cottage.Avatar Imageazaadpotter says: Simply awesomeAvatar Imagehonigmuffin says: I'm looking forward to this scene. I hope they managed to convey the emotions.Avatar ImageSohumdore says: :(Avatar Imagegriffindor18 says: This part shook me. I mean I don't ever in any of the books remember Ron crying. I love Ron so when I read this it brought me close to tears seeing one of my favorite characters get hurt like this emotionaly. Believe me this on one of my favorite chapters but was very sad.Avatar Imagegriffindor18 says: This part also shows a different side of Ron we have never seen before. It shows his sensitive side on this part.Avatar ImageTamyris says: Love this part of the book so much.Ron..such a hero and so human.Avatar ImageMissHermione says: I love this quote. Its so powerfulAvatar Imageabandonedboyjon says: I love the "I thought you knew" part too.Avatar ImageMJBDE15 says: O.O 12... days?Avatar ImageWeasleyIsMyKing3 says: I'm so excited! Getting my tickets for the midight premier today!Avatar ImageBookNookKara says: This is such a moving scene, I read it over and over when I get to it because it is so deep, I can never move past it immediately.Avatar Imageharry7potterfan says: J.K. Rowling is just so brilliant!Avatar ImagePotterParish says: this shows you the unbreakable bond of the trio....even After the troll inthe first book friendship moves mountainsAvatar Imageweasley is our king1234 says: I love this quote. It is honestly one of the best in the entire series. It really helps us understand that Ron isent just a back up, he is a huge part of the trio. And it also helps us understand, like the HPB (but a little bit more in depth) that Hermonie loves Ron! SOOOO EXITED TO SEE THIS!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!Avatar ImageLost Northern says: lol just after day ron will have a more big heart attack XDAvatar ImageLost Northern says: taht just after that lol srryAvatar ImageCatherine says: wow, powerful but really awkward moment! i really liked this part though! it was so personal, and its what friends do, sort out eachothers love lives! :)Avatar ImageClaire Lafleur says: can't wait to see rupert in this scene. he better make me cry!!
