@Dawna—No, Harry didn’t see the diadem in the Room of Requirement, but Ginny most likely did; hence, her foreshadowing comment made before she hid the book “You never know what you’ll find up here.”
Frankly, you’re assuming he didn’t see the diadem because there was no camera shots showing what Harry was looking at while in the room. It is rather stupid to think he didn’t see anything (including the diadem) when walking through the room. There wasn’t enough foreshadowing in that scene to tell conclusively one way or the other.
@SigmaKnight—Well, I say that the black bird flying out of the cabinet was symbolic of the Death Eaters emergence from it later.
