HP could be seen as a teens or (ouch!) a kid’s film, which always hurts in the eyes of Academy voters. I remember 10 years ago when Sorcerer’s Stone competed against Lord of the Rings for special effects or visual effects, and HP lost. I thought, and still do, that HP got robbed. I don’t expect DH 1 to win because the Academy will think they can honor HP next year with DH 2—just like the Rings had to wait for the last picture to get the full recognition and honors. So next year’s awards will be the time the Academy voters show their real feelings about the HP phenomenon.

I wish they would receive an Oscar… it’s their finale chance with DH :-?
@Want to be a Weasley I think these are the fields HP shines in. Even though I really like the actors, one has to accept that these are not “Oscar” – roles…
Helena Bonham Carter did receive a nomination so hurray for that :-)

I really wish that the HP movies would receive oscars, but nevertheless, the books are much much better. The movies add the wow factor to the books, in my opinion. But win or lose, HP movies are still the best!
