According to J.K. Rowling's calendar, today marks what would have been Prof. Severus Snape's 52nd birthday. Let's all take a moment to raise our glasses of butterbeer to honor a very brave man.
I have seen some artwork that JKR did for a friend’s child on an astrological theme, so she is certainly interested. (It was brought into Antiques Roadshow on the TV. Later on I think it came up for sale at auction.)

Well, it’s certainly no coincidence that Fred & George were born on April Fools’ Day, so it may well be that JKR tried to find days that suited her characters wherever possible. I think that she has discussed the relationship of Tree Ogham to their birthdays – some of them fall into the months represented by their appropriate wand-woods – but I can’t recall whether that was something that she did deliberately or just a serendipity that she discovered after the fact.
