Thanks to James for the link to today’s New York Times article about Nancy Stouffer. To refresh your recollection, as they say in depositions, Nancy Stouffer sued Warner Bros, JKR and Scholastic, claiming prior trademark rights in the term MUGGLE and the characters LARRY POTTER and LILLY POTTER, and alleged copyright infringement as well. As the Times reports, “[h]er lawyer has dropped her. Reviewers have ignored her. Her books are not selling.” It would be unprofessional for me to say, “Snark!” so I won’t.
