Sky News: The fifth Harry Potter novel of the seven-book series is nearly finished, according to author JK Rowling. Speaking at a charity screening of the first Potter film in Edinburgh, she said: “It’s still not finished but I am writing very hard, so it shouldn’t be long now.”

A summary of what we know about the release date of HP Five: Scholastic (the US publisher) confirmed in their latest annual report, that there would be no new Harry Potter book in fiscal year 2002, that ends on May 31, 2002. Contacts – who want to stay anonymous – at the British publisher Bloomsbury have told us that the release is currently planned for June 8, 2002. This date might be subject to a change, though.
