Jessie Cave,  who plays Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter films, has been keeping busy.  In an extensive interview with The Independent, Cave talks about her new book, her upcoming acting projects, and her relationship with Alfie Brown.

The book, Love Sick, is a collection of Cave’s “doodles” that she posts online each day.  These cartoons are little pictures of dating and relationships that she started during a down time in her career.

“I’m very adolescent about dating,” says Cave. “I felt like this was a way of getting out those feelings of rejection and unrequited love.” At her loneliest ebb, she would text herself, just to vent her heartache. “Then I started a fake Twitter account. This sounds really neurotic! No one followed it so I was literally just sending these messages in a bottle out into the sea…”

Things are looking up for Cave now.  She runs a website that includes her cartoon “doodles” at Pindippy.com.  Cave has a baby with boyfriend Alfie Brown, and her career is flourishing.  According to the interview with The Independent, in addition to her recent work on Great Expectations, Cave has joined the cast of British television series, Trollied, and is preparing for a stand-up show in Edinburgh.  Cave has more books in the works, and she would someday like to make a British adult animated show like Daria, but she hasn’t forgotten her days as Lavender Brown.

“If I hadn’t got Harry Potter, I don’t know how things would have turned out… but I feel like I’m now in the right place.”
