Continuing our last Harry Potter cast news round-up, today we have even more exciting projects from some of our favorite Potter alumni to share!

The talented John Hurt (Ollivander) will appear in the upcoming film Jackiestarring Natalie Portman–which centers around the life of Jackie Kennedy in the aftermath of the assassination of her husband, President John F. Kennedy. Jackie will begin showing in select theaters on December 2.

Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) joined the cast of  the upcoming film Mumbai Hotel, and shooting has recently begun! Jason arrived in Mumbai last week and will be filming for the next six weeks.

Joining a number of other celebrities (as well as thousands of other supporters) David Tennant (Barty Crouch Jr.) donned the iconic “itisanobrainer” bandana in a photo with Olivia Colman to help raise awareness for brain tumors in children. Timothy Spall (Peter Pettigrew) recently spoke about the character he portrays in his new film Denial, currently in theaters. Of the difficulties faced in playing “a real villain“, Timothy said:

“It doesn’t matter whether it’s hard or not — it’s your job. Your job as an actor, whether you’re playing the most popular person on the planet or you’re playing someone who holds controversial or even very disturbing views, is not to play the consequences of those actions. You jettison any feelings of that.”

Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) joins an all-star, all-female cast in the upcoming Ocean’s Eleven spin-off, Ocean’s Eight. Rounding out the team of eight are other big names: Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, Cate Blanchett, and Sarah Paulson. Ocean’s Eight hits theaters in 2018.

Robbie Coltrane‘s (Hagrid) new show, Robbie Coltrane’s Critical Evidence, premiered on Sunday. The show takes a closer look at some of the most chilling and disturbing crimes in UK history. Watch a clip from the show here, but be warned: the clip (and the show) does depict disturbing displays of violence.

Robbie shares with viewers his history with forensics and crime–it runs in the family!

“Forensic science is advancing all the time, cold cases can heat up and the tiniest piece of evidence can prove critical…My father was a police surgeon and I’ve always been fascinated by crime, forensics and the art of the detective. This series gets to the heart of that and I’m thrilled to be working on it.”

Jim Broadbent (Professor Slughorn) has penned a graphic novel–and it’s on Frankfurt Book Fair’s hotlist! The graphic novel, titled Dull Margaret, began as an idea for a film script, but when the project was scrapped, Jim reached out to Welsh illustrator Dix to adapt the story into graphic novel form.

Jon Campling (unnamed Death Eater) stars as Merlin in an upcoming theatre production of King Arthur at Story Pocket Theatre. Jon has been sharing updates on his Facebook page, including the cast photo shown below.
