‘Puffs’ Reviews Play to Harry Potter Fans

Puffs, or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic, which focuses on Hufflepuffs – the Hogwarts underdog – is now playing at the Elektra Theatre in midtown NYC. It has been praised as “a hilarious new off-Broadway Play!” (Mashable), and performances are continuing through January 1, 2017.
Entertainment Weekly says the show is “packed with knowing winks to its source material and a heart all its own”.
A summary is as follows:
“Some people are born to do great things. Some people change the world. Some people rise from humble beginnings to beat back the forces of darkness in the face of insurmountable odds. This is the story of the people who sit next to those people in class. Puffs, or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic gives you a front row seat to the sidelines of the world’s most famous magical journey. Follow the story of a young wizard named Wayne and the Puffs–a group of well-meaning, loyal rejects with a thing for badgers–in this laugh-out-loud comedy that’s “packed with knowing winks to its source material and a heart all its own!” (Entertainment Weekly)
