Four days ago, Entertainment Weekly revealed a shocking photo of Gary Oldman completely immersed in his new role as Winston Churchill. Gary Oldman is one of those actors that you can instantly recognize. His facial features are very prominent and very unique. And, for us Potterheads, after associating him with Sirius Black for all these years, there isn’t a time where we wouldn’t recognize him immediately.
Until now.
Yes, friends. That is Gary Oldman. I can understand if you don’t believe it. But with some help from a very good makeup artist, I’d imagine, he has completely transformed for his role as Churchill.
Oldman joins a long line of actors who’ve portrayed Churchill, including Brendan Gleeson (Into the Storm) and Timothy Spall (The King’s Speech), but Oldman’s portrayal focuses on “one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty, and freedom of a nation.”
The movie is set for release November 24, 2017!
