Hermione Granger Named No. 1 Best Female Character

News, Watson, Watson Interviews
The Hollywood Reporter recently surveyed 1,800 people–from directors to actors and writers–and asked what fictional female characters were their favourites. Everyone, from Elle Woods from Legally Blonde to Liz Lemon from 30 Rock, was included and guess who ended up on top?
Our favorite book reader and ‘the greatest witch of her age’: Hermione Granger.
Dana Scully (X-Files) came in at number five, Miranda Priestly (The Devil Wears Prada) at four, three going to Buffy Summers (Buffy: the Vampire Slayer) and number two went to the one and only Princess Leia (Star Wars)
To be honest, it’s no surprise! She is an academic, bright, clever, ultimately loyal to her friends, and someone to look up to. Emma Watson herself said:
“Hermione made it OK for girls to be the smartest in the room. To be a leader, the one with the plan,” says Watson. “She’s not just a role for me, she’s a symbol. I am deeply proud to have played her.”
Thank you, Emma for playing her. We’re proud of you for making No. 1 in top Fictional Female characters!
