Accio chocolate! The Annual Gingerbread Village in the lobby of the Sheraton Seattle Hotel rivals Honeydukes’ supply of magical sweets. From an edible Hogwarts (complete with moving staircases) to a larger-than-life chocolate Dumbledore, this exhibit deserves a feature in The Daily Prophet.

The Seattle Times reports:

“The event came together with more than 1,000 volunteer hours, an estimated 1,200 pounds of dough, 800 pounds of icing, 200 pounds of white chocolate, 250 pounds of almond paste and hundreds of pounds of candy.”

John W. Armstrong IV is the executive chef of the Sheraton Gingerbread Village, and created this year’s magical theme along with a team of chefs at the Sheraton Seattle. The team worked with six architecture firms to design the Gingerbread Village, and spent 7200 hours assembling. View highlights of the display from The Seattle Times:

Although the display is free, proceeds from the event in the form of donations go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In 2015, the event raised a record-breaking $85,000 for continued research on type 1 diabetes in youth.

The Gingerbread Village is open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until January 1st, 2017.
