A charity dinner hosted by The Hunter Foundation is auctioning off two walk on roles in the next Fantastic Beasts film to raise money for children’s charities.

According to The Guardian, Barack Obama will be attending the event and delivering a speech to over 1,000 business leaders as well as the winner of a secondary school essay contest, eight of her friends, and her teacher. Although this will be one of Obama’s largest speeches since leaving office, the media will be excluded from the event. This is to keep the focus solely on raising money rather than awareness, according the event coordinators.

There are 120 tables for 10 at the event and the best ones sold for £20,000 while the ones near the back went for £5,000. Along with Obama’s speech he will host a question and answer session, followed by the auction and performances by Annie Lennox and the pop-rock band Texas. The event and speech were paid for by a charitable trust founded by Scottish entrepreneur and philanthropist, Tom Hunter.

Alongside the two walk on parts in the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ sequel, the other prizes being auctioned off include naming rights to the Gleneagles hotel’s American bar, and a private tennis session with Roger Federer and Andy Murray. The money raised by the event and auction will be donated to children’s charities supported by the Hunter Foundation, including STV Children’s Appeal and the Kiltwalk.

The tables sold out fairly quickly, but for those few lucky attendees who have money to spare the auction prizes will be very tempting. We know we wouldn’t be able to pass up an opportunity to be in a Fantastic Beasts movie! (If only we had the funds!)
