Earlier this summer, Leaky reported that J.K. Rowling, under the now well-known pseudonym Robert Galbraith, completed the fourth novel in her popular Cormoran Strike detective series.  That novel, Lethal White, is set to release on Sept. 18. But, before pre-ordering–or planning to purchase the highly-anticipated book–fans have the opportunity to enter a drawing for the chance to win a signed first edition copy of the next installment!

The drawing is sponsored by Foyles Bookshop in partnership with publisher Little Brown, and UK fans must enter by midnight on Aug. 26, 2018.

The Foyles website specifies the following terms and conditions:

“Competition deadline midnight on Sunday 26th August 2018. Winners will then be selected at random and notified of their win within three working days of draw close. Those who have not been notified by end of 29-08-18 have unfortunately not been selected. Entrants must be resident in the UK. The prize of a signed copy of Lethal White will be despatched to the notified winners upon publication of the book on 18th September 2018. Prize is non-transferable. For full terms and conditions and privacy policy visit www.foyles.co.uk/terms-and-conditions.”

This is an exciting opportunity for series fans who are likely counting down the days until the book appears on store shelves and they can finally dig into the gripping story teased in the recently-released synopsis, which reads as follows:

‘I seen a kid killed…. He strangled it, up by the horse.’

When Billy, a troubled young man, comes to private eye Cormoran Strike’s office to ask for his help investigating a crime he thinks he witnessed as a child, Strike is left deeply unsettled. While Billy is obviously mentally distressed, and cannot remember many concrete details, there is something sincere about him and his story. But before Strike can question him further, Billy bolts from his office in a panic.

Trying to get to the bottom of Billy’s story, Strike and Robin Ellacott – once his assistant, now a partner in the agency – set off on a twisting trail that leads them through the backstreets of London, into a secretive inner sanctum within Parliament, and to a beautiful but sinister manor house deep in the countryside.

And during this labyrinthine investigation, Strike’s own life is far from straightforward: his newfound fame as a private eye means he can no longer operate behind the scenes as he once did. Plus, his relationship with his former assistant is more fraught than it ever has been – Robin is now invaluable to Strike in the business, but their personal relationship is much, much more tricky than that.

In other Cormoran Strike news, Tom Burke, who portrays the titular detective in the television adaptation, will be the featured guest at the Save the Museum Benefit event hosted by The Cinema Museum London. The event, billed as an “intimate evening,” will include a meet and greet with Burke, a screening of his favorite film, a Q&A session and drinks at the bar.

Tickets to the Sept. 4 benefit are in limited supply, so interested fans might want to consider purchasing advance tickets!
