A 10-year-old pupil at Stonar School in Atworth has landed a role in the Hollywood blockbuster, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
Lizzie Wright, who lives at Waters Edge in Pewsham, Chippenham, was chosen to star alongside Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltrane and Richard Harris in the first Harry Potter film, based on the novel by JK Rowling.
Her father, David, said: “Lizzie is the sort of girl to take it all in her stride. She was very excited and it has certainly been an incredible experience for her.”
Lizzie has been sworn to secrecy about her role in the film. She spent four days rubbing shoulders with some of the country’s biggest stars last month at Lacock under the lights and cameras.
Mr Wright said: “Lizzie hasn’t been able to tell anyone about what she did, her best friends or her family. We are certainly looking forward to seeing the film and hope Lizzie does not end up on the cutting room floor.”
Lizzie started at Stonar School in January. She is a keen dancer and was spotted by the film makers at Chippenham Dance Academy.
Mr Wright said: “We were delighted when they picked Lizzie. I know there was a lot of hanging around but I understand she had a fun time.”
The Warner Brothers film is due to be released in November.
