A hearing official in Georgia has offered a recommendation to the state school board in the much-publicized fight waged by Laura Mallory to take Potter off library shelves, Associated Press reports. Ms. Mallory has claimed, in hearings at the Gwinnett County and state level, that the books indoctrinate children in paganism: the hearing official has said she did not back up her claim, and has recommended to the school board that the books remain where they are.
In what could be the end of Ms. Mallory’s battle, the state school board will vote on her request on Thursday. Thanks to the reader who sent this in!
