Hello. This blog is about the characters and events which happend in the First War. A lot of what I will be talking about will be entwined with the Marauder Era as the two eras are closley linked. These eras in Harry Potter history have always fascinated many fans, myself included. Maybe it’s because it is very much like a period we know a lot about, The second war, maybe it’s because it’s when Voldemort started to become really powerful or maybe it’s because many of us are enthrawled by the goings on of our favourite Prankster quartet, The Marauders.

I have always been interested in this period, and in this blog I hope to unravel many of the topics to do with it. I will talk about events that happend, theories behind them and character studies of the people involved. In my next few blogs I will be talking specifically about the rise of the Death Eaters and the idea of growing up with that constant, ever growing threat. We are not quite sure at exactly what point Voldemort came into the open but from sources in the books we can hedge a fair bet that it was probably before The Marauders went to Hogwarts.

Although I know of numerous Harry Potter fanfictions to do with this era, I will be sticking strictly to canon (i.e. Information straight from the books or what Jo has personally released) because if I step into the realms of non-canon, lines can become pretty blurred! As well as my topic on the rise of Voldemort I think I will soon be posting a more light-hearted blog on our evidental stereotypes of the Marauders. Because, although we have learnt a fair bit about them, we haven’t got a full picture and yet we still have these fantastic predjudices of each one of them which we have all stuck, blindly to!

Before anyone asks; No. I will not be delving into the study behind Severus Snape as this is the job of Abbey, in her superb blog “The Daily Shampoo” (look it up, it’s great!) However, I will take requests of any other topic to do with this era which you would like me to disect for you, or any questions you may have about my blog. If this is the case then please feel free to post a comment or send me an email, I check them regularly.

Untill next time… Mischief managed.(sorry I couldn’t resist!)
