I am pretty fascinated with the older generations stories too, but I think that is because I am older. They remind me of people I know :) I think its great that you have such an interest- shows maturity :)…but I must say, (hopefully w/out sounding like a fuddy-duddy) that adults do have different perspectives of their lives based on their experience. Remus and Sirius do remember their Hogwarts days as the “best” because, for them it was. Since then, they have been basically alone, one in prison and one in a constant struggle to find work and inner peace. They miss their friends and the relative ease of school (i know its stressful now, I do!, but enjoy it while you can!) Arthur on the other hand has raised a family and gotten a good job and really made a life beyond Hogwarts. He probably does not want the kids to think it was all fun and games, so they do not hang on to the “glory days” too long either. Though it is possible that he had a major loss too, i think it is also that he is realistic. That happened, and you should not forget it, but learn from it and move on.
Often, in our world, you may have an adult who continues to relive their youth and talk about the old times, because they have not made enough new memories or they are not happy in their adult life. Likewise, when you lose a good friend, like James, you hang on to the memories as long as possible, because it does keep them alive in your mind and heart. I think that Sirius illustrates that for us.
I really like your posts and analysis of the Marauders. And i would definitely vote Artur Weasley Father of the Year :) (Actually i did in a Father’s Day Scholastic poll-lol!)
