In another interview echoing almost the same sentiments we heard a few weeks ago made on BBC Radio, actor Jason Isaacs has given another interview where he reflects on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and his role as the dastardly Lucius Malfoy. Regarding the nasty turn of events for Lucius in the final films, Jason says: "One of the lovely things about these two films is Lucius has gone
from the most evil man in the series to being utterly humiliated and
emasculated by Lord Voldemort," he said "He's reduced to little
more than the man who rushes around with a dishcloth clearing up the
spills. It's nice to have that kind of journey as a character and see
him get the comeuppance he so richly deserves."
Jason Isaacs also laments the end of the series and says while he is not scheduled to finish filming on Deathly Hallows until next year in April, he says of the end: "I find it unbearable, I'm absolutely dreading it - I'm such a
sentimental old fool that even though I don't finish shooting until
April, I already feel like they're playing Leaving On A Jet Plane in my
ear."
Aw, I’m happy to hear someone so upset about it! It seems bittersweet for the actors who grew up doing it since for most of them it was their first experience and they’re also looking forward to doing something new, but it’s nice to hear that one of the adults will miss it.
Oh Jason, Jason, how I love you lol. Its so nice to hear an actor in the films actually talk about being sad about the end of this era. I really think that I am such a lucky fan for having such great actors that truly care for the material and world we love so much.
I find it difficult to still believe that we are approaching the end of the movies. Coping with this knowledge is about as impossible to achieve as coping with the end of the books was!
It’s sad that it’s the end of the movies…for now. Nothing truly good, & unfortunately quite a few things that are truly bad, ever goes away. There’ll be remakes of the HP films sometime in the future or TV mini-series. If Warner Brothers gets desperate enough for money, we might even see Beedle brought to the screen!
jason is always so nice about the whole series and his character!!!
and we’ll miss him as well…. ;)
