Film, fashion and philanthropy continue to dominate the happenings of the Harry Potter actors this week. The Yorkshire Post has a new interview with Jim Broadbent (Professor Slughorn) in which the actor discusses his latest film, “Perrier’s Bounty.” Broadbent describes his gun-wielding, cocaine-snorting role as “irresistible… the character was so delicious.” The actor briefly mentions his role in the Harry Potter films, saying, “It’s a really civilised way of working. It’s really pleasant, they do
a fantastic job. The kids are all great; there’s no sort of brat pack
behaviour.” Brendon Gleeson (“Mad-Eye” Moody) also stars in “Perrier’s Bounty,” which is in UK cinemas now. You can find the interview with Jim Broadbent on The Yorkshire Post’s website at this link. Thanks for emailing in, Freya!

Emma Thompson (Professor Trelawney) has continued to promote “Nanny McPhee” in various mediums, appearing on BBC One’s “Friday Night with Jonathan Ross” talk show as well as BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs. Whilst Thompson doesn’t discuss Harry Potter, she puts forth her thoughts on 3D films and shares some insight into her aims when writing the screenplay for “Nanny McPhee.” Those living in the UK can find both programmes on BBC iPlayer.

Also in film news, “Wild Target,” in which Bill Nighy (Rufus Scrimgeour) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) both star, continues to live up to its name as the release date has changed once more, this time to the 18th of June. Thanks to Rupert-Grint.us for the heads up.

Rupert Grint has donated his “Keep Calm and Carry On” t-shirt and flag shoes to Cancer Research UK’s Give Up Clothes for Good Auction. The auction will run until 2.04pm BST tomorrow, the 31st of March and you can find more information, as well as links to the auctioned items, on the eBay page at this link. In 2008 the auction raised £3.2 million for Cancer Research UK. Thanks once more to Rupert-Grint.us!

In more Rupert Grint news, the actor attended the 2010 Empire Film Awards where he presented Simon Pegg with the award for Best Sci Fi/Fantasy Film for “Star Trek.” The awards ceremony took place on Sunday, 28th of March at the Dorchester Hotel in London and you can find pictures from the event here in our galleries.

Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick) attended Memorabilia Expo this weekend at the NEC in Birmingham, where he signed autographs. Other guests included Anna Popplewell (Susan Pevensie in “The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe”) and Frazer Hines (Jamie McCrimmon in “Doctor Who”.) Thanks to Heather for emailing in!

Actress Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) appears on page 36 of London Fashion Week’s Estethica catalogue. Wright is pictured modelling jewellery for ‘Wright & Teague for Oxfam’ as part of Oxfam’s effort to “re-position ‘charity shops’ as highly competitive vintage fashion retailers in their own right.” The fair trade certified jewellery line “is a collaboration using the design aesthetic of the Mayfair-based jewellers Wright & Teague, and the fair trade group Noah’s Ark.” You can download a pdf of Esthethica’s Autumn/Winter 2010 fashion guide at this link. Thanks again to Freya!
