Tom Felton to reprise role of Draco Malfoy in “Cursed Child” on Broadway

Tom Felton is joining the Broadway cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child from from November 11, 2025 – March 22, 2026, reprising his film role as Draco Malfoy. Now, Draco is all grown up and his son, Scorpius Malfoy, is attending Hogwarts with the children of his former nemesis, Harry Potter.

Is his 19 week run related to the fact that the story takes place 19 years later? Nah, we are going to have to call that a coincidence of scheduling. Felton is the first cast member from the films to join the stage production of Cursed Child. He seems refreshingly excited and emotional about it. In an interview on the Today show, he said, “When they put my blond wig on for the theatre production, I just immediately cried.”

He noted that he is the exact same age as his character in the play and added, “‘Potter’ was a massive chunk of my childhood, and now I get to sort of go back whilst also going forward….We actually are the parents. So as much as it is reprising an old role for me, it’s very much treading into new, unfamiliar territory. I know him quite well as a kid. I don’t know him that well as an adult. So that’s the that’s the exciting challenge ahead for me.”

The producers of Cursed Child, Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender, are thrilled to have Felton join the cast:

Tickets for Felton’s performances in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Lyric Theatre in New York go on sale June 10 at 11am Eastern for those who sign up for the pre-sale list by 5:59pm Eastern on June 9. They will go on sale to the general public on June 12 at 11am Eastern.
