We have received confirmation that the images we show in a previous post (as well as the ones we link to) are, in fact, official. Below is the statement from LEGO’s US Public Relations Manager Michael McNally:

The image to which you’re referring is of the LEGO Creator Harry Potter PC CD-ROM title, to be released by LEGO Software in October. The software license we hold with Warner Bros. Consumer Products Group allows us to produce interactive software based on the first book from the J.K. Rowling series. Our license with Warner Bros. to produce LEGO play materials is based on the first movie, releasing in November. The images on the pack shot in question depict the characters and elements from the software title.
