New articles in the press – with slightly different perspectives. Thanks to Alecks for the pointer to the London Times’ article, which notes that since September 11, in many ways, the “Harry Potter story sums up what we are fighting for, good and bad.” The article also discusses the loss of the books to commercialization and the movies, a plight which many longtime fans of the book both bemoan and feel a tad hopeful about.
On a similar note, a member of HP4GU wrote an essay about the movie v. the books for Salon Magazine – it, like the Times piece, notes that there are only handful of days left before the movie comes out are our last chance to remember J.K. Rowling’s young wizard as we imagined him.
