I hereby nominate David Letterman’s Online staff for a Vernon Dursley Award. David Radcliffe indeed:

The 12-year-old actor who is Harry Potter. The big Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone opens this Friday and should do Boffo business. David loves New York City, adding, “It’s so much cooler than London.” It’s his first time here. Earlier today he went to the Empire State Building, the famed toy store FAO Schwartz, and to Carson Daly’s TRL. Dave felt like he was talking to one of the Beatles. By the time this Harry Potter thing dies down, I have a feeling it’ll be like the British invasion. Young Radcliffe says he cried when he learned of the news that he got the part to play Potter. Dave says he had the same reaction when he got this show.

Just my luck. I got new glasses this week with rectangular/oval shaped frames. By Monday the eyeglass craze will be the Potter round glasses. Damn, I missed the cool scene again. I’m going back to my optometrist and ordering a monocle. I want to be in the lead when the monocle craze hits. Harry Potter – this Friday. Get used to it.
