Last night, I had the pleasure of seeing Alan Rickman in the role for which he was nominated for a Tony Award: Elyot in Noel Coward’s Private Lives. He is hands down the best thing about the show – and I don’t just say that as an AR fan. He takes what would look like quite ordinary lines and delivers them with his classic sardonic wit. He had me laughing out loud more than a few times, and the show in general is enjoyable. If you’re in New York, try and check it out – you can get tix for as low as $20 (and I got mine at 2pm yesterday at the box office). Good going, Professor Snape!
