TWW points us to this hilarious article from The Scotsman:
Sad to report that the first Harry Potter film has been conclusively proven to cause a violent reaction in youngsters.
Staff at the giant Asda store in Livingston nearly had to break out the firehoses last week when faced with a horde of angry ankle-biters who’d turned up to watch the Philosopher’s Stone on an outdoor screen as part of a night of entertainment to tie in with the movie’s release on video.
Thanks to an error, well, more gross stupidity, the show was scheduled for 7.30pm and the screen was placed in the optimum position – for the still-present evening sun to obscure the film almost completely.
We understand a four-foot wave of rampaging minors swept through the store, leaving a trail of helpless parents and staff in their wake and rendering the confectionery aisle emptier than Voldemort’s joke book.
