The South Florida Sun-Sentinal wonders:

Will Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone roar past the Lion King and sink the Titanic to become the top-selling video ever? That depends on how many fans of the boy wizard grab up copies of the Harry Potter VHS videos and DVDs when they become available for sale and rental at midnight Monday. For fans of author J.K. Rowling’s creation who can’t wait until Tuesday to buy or rent the movie, some Wal-Mart, Borders, Blockbuster, Kmart and other stores are keeping select locations open late Monday.

As a counterpoint to the previous article from the Las Vegas Sun, a reviewer from the San Francisco Chronicle offers the opinion that “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is that rare thing — a blockbuster “event” movie that’s also a little gem. The gem part comes through on the small screen, where “Harry” holds up surprisingly well. The two-disc DVD, which comes out Tuesday, also offers an abundance of enjoyable interactive features.”
