Thanks, Victoria, for a report about JKR’s involvement with a new charity book. The article she forwarded states:

Harry Potter author JK Rowling today launched a book of short stories which aims to raise thousands of pounds for a charity helping single parents and their children.
The writer has written the foreword to Magic – a collection of specially written tales by 18 of the UK’s top authors.
In the book, Rowling describes her own experiences as a single parent and the battle she faced to make ends meet.
She acknowledges her good fortune in escaping the poverty trap and bitterly attacks the stigmatisation of single parents.

You can find the book here. Some of the authors include Kate Atkinson, Christopher Brookmyre, Joanne Harris, John O’Farrell, Meera Syal, Sue Townsend, Arabella Weir and Fay Weldon. It’s unclear whether JKR has a story in the book, or just the foreword – if anyone in the UK picks it up, we’d love to know whether she said anything about the HP books in the foreword.
