Thanks to the many readers who sent us this bit of news from IMDB:
Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling is to make an appearance in an episode of The Simpsons. The famous author will feature in a special London episode of the series, where Lisa Simpson bumps into the publicity-shy writer outside a bookshop, and quizzes her about the wizard books. Don Payne, executive producer of the cartoon, says, “We’re very excited about the episode, and rest assured every British cliche will be trotted out to get a laugh.” In addition to J.K., esteemed British actor Sir Ian McKellen will also appear, but is struck by lightning after the wacky family utter the word “Macbeth” backstage – something which is thought to bring bad luck in theatrical circles. And creator Matt Groening is said to be desperate for British Prime Minister Tony Blair to make a cameo in the England-based episode of the long-running program.
Now that sounds like a riot….
