Several readers have let us know that Potter actor Timothy Spall will appear as Mr. Poe in the December release of A Series of Unfortunate Events. Information on the movie can be found through Events author Lemony Snicket’s site, although he strongly suggests that you do yourself a favor and avoid the whole unpleasant issue.

The Irish Gaelic version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is due to hit bookstores next month, putting the number of languages that the first novel has been translated into at over 200. Thanks to Shelagh for the info!
