Here’s a bit of some rocking cool news tonight. “Do the Hippogriff”, from the soundtrack of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, is on the short list of songs eligible for an Oscar Award. This song, which was performed by Jarvis Cocker and Company as the band at the Yule Ball , is one of 42 songs in competition for the award going to “Best Original Song from a Motion Picture” this year. The voting members of the Academy will begin screening three minute clips of each of the eligible songs next month. The final nominations for this award will be announced on January 31st, 2006. Rock on! Thanks very much Ali! (This editor is off to dance like a crazy elf in celebration :)
