Rickman, Walters Earn Theatre Award Nominations

Two performers in the Harry Potter movies have been nominated for their work on the British stage. Actress Julie Walters (Molly Weasley) has been nominated by the Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers’ Choice Awards in the category of “Best Actress in a Musical” for her role in Acorn Antiques . Actor Alan Rickman (Professor Severus Snape) was nominated as “Best Director” for his play My Name Is Rachel Corrie , which was also nominated in the “Best New Play” category as well. These awards are also open to the voting public, and you can vote now via this link. Winners will be announced on January 31st, 2006.
