As we told you, September 23-30 was Banned Book Week, and J.K. Rowling noted on her website that she considers “annual inclusion on the list as a great honour. ” Now the American Library Association reports that the Harry Potter series was the top vote-getter in a poll of over 5,000 readers voting for their favorite challenged books. Rounding out the Top Five controversial titles were, in places two – five, “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, “James and the Giant Peach” by Roald Dahl, “The Catcher in the Rye” by J.D. Salinger and the “Captain Underpants” series by Dav Pilkey.
Congratulations, Jo! šŸ˜‰
