Rumor Alert: Madonna's Daughter a Half-Blood Princess?

Rumor

Despite the formal press release earlier this week from Warner Bros stating that casting is now complete for the upcoming “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” film, UK tabloid The Sun has a new article online tonight involving the sixth Harry Potter movie, and the daughter of pop superstar Madonna. With a headline blaring “She’s Lourdes Voldemort,” the paper reports that:

MADONNA’s daughter LOURDES – nicknamed Lola – has been asked to join Harry Potter and his pals battling Lord Voldemort in the next film in the blockbuster series. Warner Brothers approached the 11-year-old – whose dad is fitness trainer Carlos Leon – through Madge…An executive at Warners wanted to cast Lola in the last Potter film and has renewed his interest for the next movie. Lola would love to do it – she is a huge fan. Lourdes was only offered a small part, but it could be her big break.

As always, please keep this very much in the rumor category until we can obtain confirmation. Thanks Radcakesfan!

Unbelievable! If they put her in the film, it may be the end for me. I can’t believe they would fold to that kind of pressure. If she gets this kind of treatment at her age, guess what kind of treatment she will need when she is in her early 20s. Can you say rehab?

Ugh. I agree with Shawn and others – pathetic. I personally cannot stand Madonna and if her daughter is in the movie that is 2 strikes against it. (The other, of course, being that Christian Coulson is not back playing TR).

What’s next? Are we going to have to look forward to Sting or Gwyneth’s brats playing Scrimgeour in DH? :P

Hi, Maria,

The difference is that Hugh Laurie is a real actor. Lourdes is the daughter of…well, one of the worst personalities to ever grace the silver screen. I rented the “Swept Away” remake because I thought there was no way it could be as bad as the critics said and, incredibly, it was worse.

This rumor is about as funny as the one when “The backstreet boys” were going to be in the Star Wars movie Attack of the Clones. It was said that Lucas’s daughter or niece was a fan and wanted them in the final geonosis fight at the end of the movie.

That said…..

I don’t see why she shouldn’t. She seems cute enough. Everyone needs a break in of some kind. someone will have to play these rolls, why not her. I’m sure it will be some kind of cameo and not a speaking roll anyway.

Could be worse, at least the characters aren’t walking around sipping mountain do and eating doritoes and tacobell.

Meh. What role could she possibly have that would be bad for the movie? All the big ones are taken (Romilda and Demelza sound a bit like no shows to me). So if it’s just as an extra or a one-line role I don’t really mind, but I’m willing to bet on this just being a rumor.

To borrow a phrase from Rita Skeeter: The Sun? I could manure my garden with the contents of that rag.

sounds like some jealousy is flying around in here…

What?! I SERIOUSLY doubt that this is true. I mean… it’s THE SUN for Pettigrew’s sake. She’s an American 11 year old. If the only part she’s going to be able to play is Amy Benson, than surely they can find some normal English kid-actor? And Warner Bros. says they’ve cast already. Who do we trust – Warner Bros. or The Sun? Hmm… fake ponder

Hear ye, hear ye! Let it be known, I, for one, am not “jealous” of the kid who will play the young Tom. I mean, as much as I’d love to be a 20-something young British guy, I’m quite content to be a 30-something, gorgeous American girl.

I want Coulson back for the sake of consistency, NOT because I am jealous of the actor who’ll play TR.

And if we must have the children of famous people, for god’s sake bring in someone with class – is Kate Bush’s son Bertie free? LOL

Yes. She was born in America, but she has spent most of her life living and being educated in England.

However, this is report is probably fake, fake, fake, fake, fake.

Oh, please no!! With Madonna’s daughter in Harry Potter, it will become even more commercialized. (Did I spell that right?) This is just what Potter fans DON’T want. Can’t Warner Bros. figure that out by now? They’re turning Harry Potter into one huge franchising, commercial thing. This is what is making s and parents think Harry Potter is a ‘children’s book’. ARGH! Why is this so special to Warner Bros. anyway? WHO CARES IF SHE’S MADONNA’S DAUGHTER?! She’s also American, and no exception should be made just because she’s Madonna’s daughter! What role would she play anyway? Maybe Romilda Vane or a Qudditch play, but she seems too young for those roles…. Sorry for my angry rant on Madonna’s daughter. This is probably just some untrue rumor I’m getting worked up about. I’m sorry, Madonna’s daughter for that angry speech Wow, that was long. XD

While we do need to read this with “Our salt barrels ready”, (slightly butchered quote from Jo) consider the source (The Sun of all papers!), and that Madonna’s record label is with Warner Brothers. They could possibly be using this as a way to suck up to Madonna (if it’s even true!)- from what I’ve heard about her parenting, she’s not going to go pull lots of strings for her daughter and Lourdes knows it. Her website has said nothing about the casting, and until we hear from WB, there’s not need to get our knickers in a twist, and it should stay in the “funny little rumors” section of our minds.
