Despite the formal press release earlier this week from Warner Bros stating that casting is now complete for the upcoming “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” film, UK tabloid The Sun has a new article online tonight involving the sixth Harry Potter movie, and the daughter of pop superstar Madonna. With a headline blaring “She’s Lourdes Voldemort,” the paper reports that:
MADONNA’s daughter LOURDES – nicknamed Lola – has been asked to join Harry Potter and his pals battling Lord Voldemort in the next film in the blockbuster series. Warner Brothers approached the 11-year-old – whose dad is fitness trainer Carlos Leon – through Madge…An executive at Warners wanted to cast Lola in the last Potter film and has renewed his interest for the next movie. Lola would love to do it – she is a huge fan. Lourdes was only offered a small part, but it could be her big break.

Arh if this is true it bothers me a little bit, did they make up a part just because she’s madonna’s daughter? she’s american! and she probably didn’t have to audition, i really hope this is jst a rumor cause this isn’t fair to everyone else who auditioned
I really hope this isn’t true, The Sun isn’t a good source really, but if this is true it is unfair as American actors/actresses are not allowed into the HP Era of movies, appart from Chris Columbus(sp?)’s daughter, who was a main characater but didn’t have a speaking role. Madonna.. I can’t see them giving her daughter the role, she is unrelated to Harry Potter. >< I’m mad. I want to be in Harry Potter HBP/DH, I hope she didn’t get in..open casting is the way.
Why would they randomly offer her a role? Its weird i cant picture her in harry potter at all and i never new she wanted to be an actress and how did they know? Im confused.
Well, of course The Sun is not a reliable source, but I’d like to remind everyone that it could be possible because.
1. There are some non-British ators in the franchise: Chris Rankin (Percy) is kiwi and Zoë Wanamaker (Madame Hooch) is American. But they can perform like a British because they have been raised in Britain. Lourdes was raised in Britain.
2. People are forgetting some of the roles for young girls in HBP. How about Crabbe and Goyle polijuiced?
who knows? she might be a good actress, give her a chance. i do feel slightly its-not-fair-that-only-famous-people-get-all-the-luck-ish though, but there isnt anything i can do about that, i guess.
if she is in the movie i dont think that she’ll do amy benson… didnt the scene happen when tom riddle was like 8? or younger than 11 anyway???? also they didnt do the scene in the book, so chances are, theyre not going to add it in to the movie since all they do is cut scenes out, not insert new ones….

If she has a small, non-speaking part (or even if she has a couple lines) it’s not going to harm the movie. I think she’d be a very lucky little girl, and I’m glad she’s a big fan. I know what people mean about the ‘only famous people get lucky like that,’ but there’s nothing really we can do about that, unfortunately.
Whatevs-maybe it’s true, maybe it isn’t. I’m kind of neutral on this topic, lol.
I love Hugh Laurie, my point though was, why is everyone freaking out because she is “American”? Just because they don’t like her mother does not mean that she might not actually be good for whatever role (IF THIS IS TRUE) she would be playing. I think she is actually kind of cute and honestly she is a Harry Potter fan (like the rest of us). So what if her mother is famous. If any one of us had a famous parent and could get us (an 11 year old, mind you) to play a minor part in a Harry Potter movie, wouldn’t you want to do it? That is all I was trying to say. PS: I am a huge HOUSE fan, record all episodes. :-)
Everybody here is saying she shouldn’t get a part because she’s american… SHE LIVES IN LONDON She goes to my school (the French Lycee, don’t ask why Madonna choose the french system…) so we get a glimpse of her mum from time to time… A few friends who know Lourdes say she is a spoiled and bossy child… but I don’t know her so I won’t make a judgement… I’ll ask her if this rumor is true if I see her…
