The USA Today has published a Books Year in Review special, and selected “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” as their number one book of the year. In an article titled “Harry Potter prevails, wands down,” the newspaper addresses the various sales records, the pre-release spoilers and excitement for book seven in the Harry Potter series, as well as the post release revelations from JKR, but noted none of these things mattered in the final decision. “Deathly Hallows” was their choice as book of the year because “Rowling gave her story an ending that was as graceful, unpredictable and satisfying as the series itself. She reaffirmed that magic can exist when someone opens a great book and enters a world created from words on paper.”

GO JKR! But, that wasn’t very shocking was it? She wrote the biggest book series ever, do you not think she would totally beat out everybody else? That’s my girl-Jo-

Its too bad really, I think she blew it on book 7. What she wrote will make a great “movie” but it was a disappointment as far as ending the story goes. After reading Hallows, I couldn’t help thinking that she sold out to the film makers by writing a book that could easily be made into a movie without changing much or leaving out anything unlike the proceeding books (except 1-2) that were totally destroyed on screen. She states that this ending was planned all along, but I wonder really if she didn’t make changes to this book after seeing her previous ones gutted by the film industry so badly as to be nothing but a mish mash of scenes with no real content and barely recognizable as the stories they were suppose to portray. I guess only JKR will ever know for sure.

Well, I happen to think Deathly Hallows was wonderful, and obviously many others agree! You go Jo!!

THE BEST BOOK EVER, THE BEST AUTHOR EVER, A BOOK AND AUTHOR THAT WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN

My opinion is that the Deathly Hallows is the best book of the Harry Potter series!!! It was obvious that she was going to win somaething like that with this book. And if she wrote the book to make the movies better? That’s ok. I really want to see what happens in Deathly Hallows on screen!!!!!

OMG! ilove the last book i agree that is the best one in the series only because it ends in a great way. One thing i would like to see would be another series that in a way continued with Harry’s kids and they have to go throught somethings like Harry! That would be so awsome!
