The annual Queen’s New Years Honours List, which gives recognition to those of exceptional achievement, service, or merit in the UK, was announced today and contained the names of two actors from the Harry Potter films: Julie Walters (Molly Weasley), and Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon). The Mirror reports that actress Julie Walters was made a CBE or Commander, and Richard Griffiths was named OBE or Officer on this list of distinctions.
