With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, now comes the time of the year to send the ones you love tokens of your affection. This act is mirrored in our latest contest: The Love Songs of the 90’s Contest. As Harry experienced in “Chamber of Secrets,” nothing shows your affection like a singing valentine in the middle of a crowded hallway. This time around, our Contest Crew has you choosing your favorite Harry Potter character and writing a singing Valentine that is four lines long and no more than 50 words to them. Feel free to write it from the standpoint of one character singing to another, or you singing it to a Harry Potter character. We ask that entries be consistent with book canon, and not feature pairings or characters of your own creation. Also, be sure to specify the characters in which you are writing about.

As always, one original PG-13 appropriate work may be submitted by those not involved in the judging process. All submissions must be e-mailed to [email protected] by February 29th at 11:59 pm (EST). Please copy and paste the lyrics into the body of the e-mail and include a name to be used for authorship (real name or Leaky Lounge name).

For more information along with complete rules, you can check out our Contest page as well as our FAQ section. Good luck to all who enter!
