A bit of theater news tonight as Playbill is reporting that actress Kate Mulgrew has joined the cast of “Equus” which will open on Broadway this fall, starring Dan Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths. Kate Mulgrew is no stranger to the stage, having appeared in such productions as Titus Andronicus and the acclaimed Tea at Five. Kate is also familiar to many for her turn in films and television show such as the long-running Ryan’s Hope soap opera, but she is perhaps known more widely to readers for her recent turn as Captain Kathryn Janeway on the popular Star Trek: Voyager series.

The play “Equus” which met with such success last year for its run in London, is set to begin previews here in New York on September 25, and will have a 22 week run until February of next year. As noted many times previously, Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon) are set to reprise their roles in this production, however demand for tickets to these shows is quite high and are selling out quickly. If you are interested in attending, tickets for the production of Equus on Broadway are available via this link.
