Several bits of news tonight, having to do with actress Emma Watson, as her official website has been updated with new photos that appeared in the UK Sunday Times Style Magazine. Things have also taken on a festive air over at the website of the Hermione Granger actress, for if you have not seen it yet, note it has been recently decorated with a musical, and snowy holiday theme. Via this link, you can see a Christmas tree to click and drag, which will produce some holiday “gifts.”

Finally, be sure to check this news post, that lists many of Emma’s upcoming interview schedule and appearances before the release of her new movie, The Tale of Despereaux (which also co-stars fellow Potter actor Robbie Coltrane). Emma Watson will soon be featured in interviews with the AP, the Guardian and Telegraph newspapers, on mymovies.net, and will be appearing on ITV at the Movies holiday special.

Avatar Image says: YAY Emma Watson! (first post?)Avatar Image says: yay! YOU GO GRL! I LUV U! MWAH! 3rd post! ;)Avatar Image says: They did a nice job with Emma's website for Christmas. It's cute and I love "Jingle Bells"!Avatar Image says: So great to see the 3 main HP actors (Dan, Rupe and Emma) do what they´re best at. Dan and Rupert in terms of acting and Emma in terms of posing for magazinesAvatar Image says: Though they all do both.Avatar Image says: For someone who supposedly found it difficult growing up in the media spotlight, she's not shy about putting herself slap bang in the middle of it. Ah well, when you've got as little acting talent as she has, I guess you have to make the most of your pretty face while you can. Meanwhile, Dan and Rupert can 'struggle' on with their well deserved acting careers.Avatar Image says: sonja and m.a.boon please go somewhere else to vent your ever so sad bitternessAvatar Image says: I'm going nowhere. I'll express my opinion here, without foul language, the same as you SeaJay. If you don't like it, tough.Avatar Image says: SeaJay - everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I personally don't think Emma is a good actress, but at least this is a news item related to her working and not just showing up at a random event. She's is becoming a bit of a socialite and until shw shows that she is more interested in acting (by working more) then you can't expect many of us to think of her the same way you do. I think she cares more about PR than acting. Avatar Image says: The girl was still in school and is planning to go back next fall. How many films do you think she had or will have, outside of HP, enough time to complete? I'm not knocking on Dan or Rupert, but they're both older than her and ended their schooling much earlier than she will, so they would have ample time to accomplish whatever projects they would like to. Emma doesn't. She's doing what she can with the time she has. On another note, I thought she was signed with a modeling agency, so isn't posing for magazines part of that job? Why does she have to take herself out of that because she's found growing up in the spotlight difficult? Difficult doesn't equal run away from. Avatar Image says: "...she cares more about PR than acting." Arrgh. A point, that often gets overlooked is that Emma Watson went to school two years longer than Dan or Rupert who finished school with their GCSEs while Emma finished with her A-Levels. So, there was a little less time to do acting. Another point is that most of the PR she does is for either Harry Potter or Tale of D, which she is obliged to do, beause it says so in her contracts. Dan and Rupert do that type of PR, too, btw. Dan was in Vogue Magazine naked on a horse, he was on Charlie Rose and Inside the Actors Studio and so on and nobody held that against him. Emma Watson always said, that she will have a gap year after school. So, she goes to movie premieres, theater premieres, fashion shows, visits potential universities, promotes her new animated movie and gets stalked by paparazzi everywhere she goes all day long. Is she not allowed all that in her gap year? Is she allowed to do what she wants to do in her free time? She will shoot a movie all of next year, she will go to university, how many movies is she supposed to shoot to satisfy you bashers? In addition, she is going to auditions, reads scripts and waits for a project to come along that interests her. She is very selective about her projects and she also needs to find the time. (Remember two years more school than Dan and Rupert?) Is doing 5 movies a year like some actresses better that doing the ones that are realy interesting? In a couple of years, she´ll be the highest educated person of the trio and if that means she had to pass on a couple of acting parts, that´s fine with me. Besides, quite a lot of actresses and singers in addition to being signed with an acting agency are also signed with a modeling agency. That doesn´t automatically mean that they will appear on a catwalk anywhere, but for instance photoshoots are planned that way, for instance. And for Emma Watson (and for a number of other people) photoshoots are a form of acting - acting in still frames. The Vogue Italy shoot has been her most artistic so far and there was certainly acting invoved - for those who cared to see it. Dan and Rupert have done photoshoots, too, so why is Emma getting all the heat for what she does? Avatar Image says: I should have clarified, by PR I wasn't referring to the legitimate work that she does to promote her projects, I was referring to the socialising aspect of permieres etc. That is not what I consider to be "work". As to her education - we're all aware that she finished her A-Levels. But Daniel did his AS Levels - that means he has had one less year of education than Emma - not 2, Rupert is the one that finished after his GCSEs. And going on to university does not necessarily make one better than others you know. That's snobbery. But she finished her ALevels in the summer - that means she has had from then to Feb next to fit something in. But she hasn't. If she doesn't want to do anything in the mean time that'sup to her - but her photoshoots are not part of acting, and my point was that she hasn't had an acting job since May (HBP), when she really could do with the skills. You referred to Dan adn Rupert doing photoshoots - true. Photoshoots to promote their projects. Again, Emma's Vogue shoot wasn't doing that. As a person she seems fine, smart and with a good head on her shoulders. I just don't consider her focused on being an actress. She won't get a chance to make another production until Aug 2010 (when DH is completed). You shouldn't all start to go on the defensive and treating us that don't think of her in the same light as you as being "haters" or "giving her a hard time". Avatar Image says: Sorry if I came across as being defensive; that wasn't my intent, and I apologize. Again, Emma is signed with Storm models, and with her current high-profile status, she would be expected to feature in modeling photoshoots. Yes, she finished her ALevels in the summer, leaving then until Febuary to do another project, but there may not have been anything available for her that had those specific shooting times. She's not yet big enough like, say, Angelina Jolie, for every production company to bend to her needs. Only the WB will do that.Avatar Image says: Emma also spent time on finding universities to go to, and she had to do a bit of traveling for the east coast US schools. Lord knows that already eats a lot of time for those of us who don't travel to other countries looking for a potential university. I live in Indiana, US, and just looking at nursing schools across the Midwest, while finishing high school and countless extracurriculars, took close to four months because of the schools' different visitation dates and the availablity of my schedule. Avatar Image says: Oh for goodness sake. Why the bile? Is anyone seriously telling me if you were a star in Harry Potter you would say 'right, I'm not turning up to any public events ever, no more parties, no more opening ice rinks...' Yeah right. She is enjoying her life. If she chooses to do magazine shoots, so be it. Everyone knows acting is a double edged sword. You are contractually obliged to perform certain duties in public. I don't think she's the best actor of the three - Rupert has always been the natural for me - but I think the bitterness of some people here shows more about their jealousy and petty mindedness than any real understanding of the industry.Avatar Image says: Miriam, I don't know if you've ever taken your A-levels or went to Uni, but just in case you haven't, it takes a lot of your time dedicating yourself to that area, and if you don't continue your Alevels and Uni, you'll have more time in your hands to audition and look at other scripts. You are entitled to your own opinion, but you can officially be titled a basher (to me atleast) because you have made it a point to come on every single emma watson news and have NOTHING positive to say about her. If you dislike her then ignore the news surrounding emma, but droning on and on about the same points you make EVERY single time and whining and moaning about the same things about emma w. makes you sound like a pathetic hater to be honest. If you've said it once, that would be enough, we read your posts. But every time, here you are, on the EMMA WATSON NEWS. Sounds like someone is obsessed... And for the record majority of the people who attend Ivy Leagues and the OxBridge uni's DO look down on others, just a fact.Avatar Image says: ^^Faith, Miriam seems to think that emma doesn't deserve to enjoy her life because she's on magazines and into "PR". Mariam also doesn't seem to understand that Emma is an actress AND a model (signed on with Storm models) so even when Emma is doing her job, people like Miriam think she's not. Oh well, haters are showing their true colors... Seems like they need to look at their own lives before criticizing young actors on theirs... Take a chill pill Miriam, you nag too much.Avatar Image says: Blair, thanks for the apology - but I think that's the point I've been trying to make. Emma obviously considers acting as a lower priority to other things (esp. education). There isn't anything wrong with that, but I therefore consider her less commited to acting. That's why I don't think she'll stay so much in the business. And she'll have to struggle quite a bit to get away from the Hermione tag if she does continue acting, mainly due to not being seen doing other work. Again, if she doesn't want, or hasn't the opportunity that's fine - but then she (and her fans) must expect to be typecast. And I didn't really think much of the Vogue shoot - just seemed a little outdated to me - her latest Times pics are much better but nothing original. I don't think she has a career as model either - she's very pretty but I don't know if she'd have an impact on the industry (for example like Keira Knightley) - she would need to find a better suited brand than Chanel. Her age group appeal is younger than their clientele. Again - the photoshoots may be "work" for her if she's modelling - but it's not acting - which goes back to my first point. @ Faith - was your comment directed at me? I don't think I've been bitter or jealously petty about Emma. Going to parties is one thing - but it's not work. And these sites shouldn't cover it as if it is. It's socialising. And if that's all you're seen to do then it does lean towards the "famous for being famous" tag. Emma should party as much as she wants, I don't care - I was at her age - but it doesn't need to reported on. btw - I don't like the way Rupert "acts", but at least he and Daniel are trying out new things. I think it may have been a bad idea for Emma to do the animation - would have been better for people to SEE HER not the animation, if you understand. I think many people don't know she's in the film. Avatar Image says: @bonnieradcliffe & dumbledoreforminister (you mispelt my name btw), I don't hate Emma. I dislike her acting of course, but I don't hate HER. I think you're being ridiculously childish by having a go just because other people disagree with you. As to education - as a matter of fact I got my BA in Eng Lit this year (yay!) but I have also worked a full time job throughout and with people that haven't gone to university. Only shallow people look down on others for reasons like not attending university. I don't look down on people, I'm sure Emma doesn't either, unless you're saying Emma is like that? Or perhaps that is an opinion that you have yourself, in which case you should probably do something about that. Avatar Image says: I switched on my Christmas Tree lights for the first time this evening - does this count as work? If so where do I get my paycheck from?Avatar Image says: I support Emma:D she da best we knw ofAvatar Image says: Well, depends. Swiching on Christmas Lights is something a number of people are asked to do. Some do it, because they can wear Tiffany jewlery and ice-skate with their sisters. Others do it, beacuse they play a psychiatrist on broadway. Others do it in private, mostly when they are people that nobody knows and wants to see in public. I usually do it totally naked and freezing quite a lot.... But seriously, doesn´t anyone really know how much Emma Watson got paid for tree lighting? Or Richard Griffiths? Or all those other well known people who are asked to do it every year? And do we really need to know? I just enjoy most of the public appearances of actors/people I care about, that´s all. Avatar Image says: Miriam, you are being very childish, with clearly a dislike towards Ms. Emma Watson. Let it go, and ignore the new surrounding Ms. Watson if it gets your knickers so damn twisted. You are now sounding like a hater. We have already read all your moaning dislikes concerning her, but here you are again spending time posting negatory comments on miss Watson, same opinions in every news. I like to read posts and when I read yours, I get a opinion that you are an emma basher/haterAvatar Image says: someone's obsessed with emma -> -> -> -> -> -> MIRIAM!! heh, go on rupert's site i you care so little about emma, gtfo!!Avatar Image says: Again, i'm not a 'hater'. Perhaps infantile minds don't understand constructive criticism? And i don't EVER recall saying i'm a rupert supporter, if anything i prefer dan and matt lewis. Of course i'll respond if people call me a 'hater' for expressing an opinion. But i don't understand why emma fans think it is ok to bully others that don't share their opinions. It is prejudice. This is a hp site, not an emma site. You can't expect us all to 'worship at the same altar'.Avatar Image says: Again, i'm not a 'hater'. But they should be good and not something she took on, just to make a film no matter what. I am satisfied with her explanation about her schedule and I am looking hopefully to the future. Meanwhile, I am watching many Dan interviews and view most of the nice pictures that appear with Emma Watson in them (nothing paparazzi, getting in and out of cars, walking down streets with friends, etc.) not forgetting interviews (always too short). However, I don´t personally think she´s become a socialite (whatever that exactly means in relation to her and especially compared with certain other people) or that she is a bad actress. I accept that there are many other opinions about this and future movies will show just how good an actress she is. We might see her limitations or we might see her continue to mature as a performer. She´s only 18 after all and not all can be born a finished 35-year-old-actress like Dakota Fanning. (That was not an attempt to insult anyone :) Avatar Image says: @Miriam: I loved the Vogue photoshoot, lol. Oh well, different tastes for different people. Your last post explained your position well, and yes, I agree with you that Emma sees acting as less important than going to university, but that doesn't mean she won't stay in the business. Many people assumed that Natalie Portman would drop from the world of acting when she entered Harvard, but she came back once she graduated. Despite her heavy involvement with Star Wars, Portman was offered and had accepted multiple kinds of projects and roles. To keep this point from getting long, I think it's a bit early to tell if Emma will be typecast. I also don't see why Emma modeling should be an issue. She's not under contract to do only one thing with her life-- she's still young enough to branch out. Photoshoots, fashion week shows, and go-sees are part of her job. I figure that if I ever have the opportunity to do new and different things, I will try them out instead of looking back sixty years from now and regretting that I hadn't. Oh, and about Emma going to parties: I think it's perfectly normal. She's eighteen, lol. If she was never involved with HP, she still would have partied, so I don't see why she shouldn't now. Now, the media coverage of her going out and having fun like a normal girl of her age does is out of hand, but that's not Emma's fault. The media has historically been heavily involved with teen female stars, and it's bordering on distubing. You're completely right by saying Emma's partying doesn't need to be reported on, but It's not so much as socializing on her part as it is paps and camera crews following her wherever she goes. Avatar Image says: Miriam, you are seriously an Emma hater. Lwave the girl alone. For me, I think her acting is brilliant and I like her the most out of the trio. She is the most educated out of the three. Bot Dan and Rupert dropped out. And anyway, don't you have better things to do then keep bashing Emma? Avatar Image says: Mione, neither dan and rupert 'dropped out', school finishes at 16 in the UK. And i don't hate emma. But i do hate silly people that act like 4 year olds when someone disagrees with them. Avatar Image says: Mione, neither dan and rupert 'dropped out', school finishes at 16 in the UK. By the way, stop posting a million times. YOU are on steriods, not your computer. hit the submit button once and WAIT. If you hit it 3 times, your nasty post will appear 3 times...Avatar Image says: Miriam, I don't know what country you are from, but Dan and Rupert are not going to university so they are basically known as high-school graduates, so no credit for going to uni at all whch is MUCH harder than A-levels and high school. By the way, you do come off as a hater. It's not against people expressing their opinions, many don't have all positive things to say, but you come off as a 4 year old little girl whining and moaning and bashing emma watson's every move. That's how how sound throuh your posts, so don't feel surprisd when folks call you a hater.Avatar Image says: ^ I AGREEAvatar Image says: Blair, The Natalie Portman comparison isn't that well-suited, you see. Natalie, while being involved in a juggernaut series like Emma, had range. When she was younger she did films like Beautiful Girls, Everybody Says I Love You, and The Professional. Emma's career pales in comparison. While I'm no big Natalie Portman fan, I can recognize that Natalie's choices in film were far greater than Emma's because she actually exposed herself to different things. Natalie did photoshoots, she did Star Wars, and she did independent films. She worked with Gary Oldman at a young age, just like Emma. But Natalie had range. Emma has done Harry Potter, Ballet Shoes, and this animated film. I have seen all the HP films, I have seen her remake of Ballet Shoes (and the original BBC version), but I haven't yet seen The Tale of Despereaux (though I did read the book when I was younger). Those films are not as varied as Natalie's, so to compare her career and decision to Emma's is not best. Natalie did films while at Harvard, she showed great interest in film as a young person, etc. Emma has shown that if circumstances allow acting would be a nice thing to follow, but not necessarily the highest thing on her list, which is not a bad thing. She puts great value on education and I find that admirable. It shows she's not an airhead like some other young actresses, but comparing her to Natalie in this case? Close in some ways, but not close enough...Avatar Image says: Some people seem to have a very negative opinion of Emma Watson round here, so for arguments sake, here's a different perspective. Hear me out. I remember around 2 years ago, Emma said in a couple of interviews that she wasn't sure she wanted to be an actress for the rest of her life - perhaps she's thought about it, and decided either that she doesn't want to continue acting or perhaps she decided simply to wait and see how she felt after college. In which case, she could be planning to finish out her commitment to Harry Potter and then head off to uni. So, while she's waiting around for HP to start filming and college to begin, she's decided to milk this celebrity mullarkey for a couple of months - go to swanky parties, do some PR, some modelling, earn some extra cash, and enjoy herself. I really think this is the case, I mean she's never seemed exceptionally taken with the celeb thing before now, so maybe she's just, like I said, milking it a bit. And why not? She's smart enough not to invest too much in becoming an A-lister or whatever, so she's just taking advantage of what's being offered to her. Be honest with yourself guys (Miriam, Sonja, m.a.boon, etc) if you were 18 and you were offered Italian Vogue and front row seats to fashion shows, and you were doing nothing for a few months, would you say no? One other thing: I used to post on TLC loads a couple of years ago, but these boards just became too irratating. People round here have so far attacked Emma because of the size of her roles in HP, the clothes and hair she has as Hermione, even her sodding *eyebrows* for crying out loud. Everyone is of course entitled to their opinion, but when people keep coming on Watson news articles and spouting snide comments repeatedly, frankly, your opinion is of no interest anymore - if you've made your views clear, then for God's sake drop it. Avatar Image says: Anne, everything you just said shows your ignorance. I am British, and under British law a person completes school at 16. And in the UK we don't have graduation for school. Don't judge the rest of the world by your narrow outlook. To the post above, i never said that emma shouldn't party, but it showcases her as socialising not as work. This doesn't make me a hater, it makes a lot of you seem petulant.Avatar Image says: Anne, everything you just said shows your ignorance.
