We have several pieces of news regarding Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince today, including yet more rumors on the long awaited teaser trailer and more.
First, scores of readers let us know about this very small photo that has now surfaced online, showing a different angle of the previously officially released photo of the trio in the common room. While this new photo is small indeed, you can see more of the students sitting in the room.
This photo first surfaced on this site, curiously posted by the person who revealed the earlier photo of what seems to be Harry looking in a filing cabinet from Half-Blood Prince, and who has now apparently posted something that is claimed to be the teaser poster.UPDATE: Thanks much to WB for confirming that yes indeed, that poster is FAKE. We have also received many reports from readers of that site and elsewhere the teaser trailer for HBP will now be shown in front of Get Smart, when that film is released on June 20. Other reports are coming to TLC saying the international trailer will be released in front of the new Batman film, The Dark Knight when that opens in July. While we are as anxious as you for the teaser trailer, please note that all of this is very much unconfirmed, and should remain firmly in the RUMOR category the time being. We have contacted WB to find out more about this new photo, trailer dates and more, and will update of course as soon as we can.
I think the poster is extremely fake. Harry looks bigger than he should and taller as well. Also, where are they supposed to be? I mean if it is supposed to be the lake with the horcrux in the middle.. they need to re-read the book haha.. considering it was in a cave
You know – the LACK of a teaser trailer has generated just as much (if not more) buzz than the actual trailer might. I think Warner Brothers maybe be doing this on purpose, actually. why should they expend huge resources hyping a film that the fan community will hype for them – free of charge?
Another month for just a teaser trailer? I feel like we’re being robbed here. The Twilight fans got their teaser trailer at the beginning of this month and it opens after HBP… Why are they being so tight-lipped with this movie? That’s when all these fakes and rumors start cropping up.

Someone needs to write to the WB ask them why its taking so long! i dont think i will be going to see any of these movies that are rumored to be in front of! lol.
A little bit of trailer trivia:
HP trailers have never premiered in front of big franchise movies. They have always been attached to family-friendly (and usually kid-friendly) movies. PS first showed up attached to ‘See Spot Run,’ CoS was first attached to ‘Scooby Doo,’ PoA premiered with ‘Looney Tunes,’ GoF with ‘Kicking and Screaming,’ and OotP with ‘Happy Feet.’
It doesn’t seem likely, given the pattern, that the HBP trailer will be attached to ‘Dark Knight.’ ‘Get Smart’ seems a more reasonable guess. It has the same rating as DK, but the target audience is a bit different.
Oh, and while the GoF trailer showed up in May (which suggested the same for HBP, since they’re both November releases), the CoS trailer (movie also released in a November) didn’t show up until the second half of June. Which is about where we’ll be when ‘Get Smart’ hits theaters. Not that this means anything, of course, but it makes me feel better about us not having gotten the HBP trailer yet. :)
Interesting facts, Pam. I’m starting to believe we get the teaser trailer in front of Get Smart and perhaps the actual, full-length trailer in front of Dark Knight.
I just want to have SOMETHING. Set reports, interviews, anything. Now that the they’ve finished filming I’m starting to hope we’ll get more news…... at least I hope so!!

About the trailer, I kind of think it’s reasonable for the HBP teaser to be attached to Get Smart. I really hope so because I’m DYING to see the trailer. :D
Oh, Kelso. WB isn’t leaking anything intentionally. They’ll put it out when they want to put it out. They don’t need to “keep interest.” The interest is there.

I think WB wants to wait to give any new info / photo’s / trailer / news till the dispute with SVA is settled (till the court has made a verdict).. I’m not sure.. I’m just guessing..

I totally agree. Draco, Snape, and Dumbledore really should be on the poster since they really are the main characters in HBP besides Harry, Ron, and Hermione. But for some reason they rarely put any of the adult characters on the posters. I don’t know why.
I would say WTF that is the ugliest looking fake poster ever,the one that claimed to be the real teaser poster a few months ago was way better.I also would like to say is that I think Warner Bros is planning something HUGE and it seems likely for them to realease a HBP teaser cause as I recall they released an teaser trailer for Get Smart in front of OOTP last year.Also we might get a theatrical trailer with The Dark Knight.I think WB is going to release some oics in the coming weeks leading up to Get Smart and then release a teaser trailer.To all HP fans I know we are desperate for anything new especially a trailer,but don’t worry our wait will not go unrewarded believe me.So please WB.help us fans out.Remember HP is so addictive,it’s like a drug that causes no harm to our bodies,just joy and glee.
