We have several pieces of news regarding Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince today, including yet more rumors on the long awaited teaser trailer and more.
First, scores of readers let us know about this very small photo that has now surfaced online, showing a different angle of the previously officially released photo of the trio in the common room. While this new photo is small indeed, you can see more of the students sitting in the room.
This photo first surfaced on this site, curiously posted by the person who revealed the earlier photo of what seems to be Harry looking in a filing cabinet from Half-Blood Prince, and who has now apparently posted something that is claimed to be the teaser poster.UPDATE: Thanks much to WB for confirming that yes indeed, that poster is FAKE. We have also received many reports from readers of that site and elsewhere the teaser trailer for HBP will now be shown in front of Get Smart, when that film is released on June 20. Other reports are coming to TLC saying the international trailer will be released in front of the new Batman film, The Dark Knight when that opens in July. While we are as anxious as you for the teaser trailer, please note that all of this is very much unconfirmed, and should remain firmly in the RUMOR category the time being. We have contacted WB to find out more about this new photo, trailer dates and more, and will update of course as soon as we can.
I don’t know if they’ll put Draco or Snape on the poster. They wouldn’t want to give too much away. After all, they’re also trying to appeal to people who haven’t read the books, and they might feel that focusing too much on either of those characters would spoil the ending. Dumbledore I could kind of see on the poster, for some reason, but not the other two.
Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part. As much as I like the adult characters, the kids are the heart of the books and movies for me, and I’d rather see them on the posters. Also, I think Alan Rickman and Tom Felton are both kind of fugly, to be quite honest, and I’d rather not look at them if I don’t have to. (runs for my life from the rabid fangirls)
WB perfectly know what they’re doing in terms of marketing and building a hype around the release of a blockbuster ;) The more people wait for having even a tiny piece of the film the more excited they get ;) You only have to look at the viral marketing around the Dark Knight :D That’s mazingly done and got a lot of people hyped up for the film.
We’ll just have to wait a bit for Harry Potter. They’re building the excitement. It might also be that they’re focused on the summer films for the moment.
i think TLC has an obligation to the fans to find out what’s up with the trailer and all the news. you guys work really hard and we do appreciate it so much, but you have the power to communicate with the WB and i hope you are telling them that this is unfair. it is clearly intentional and i don’t think that its right given that we are on the 6th movie and we have given them a billion dollars already. i mean, really, this is guaranteed money for them.
I feel like it’s taking WB forever to actually tell everyone something more about Half-Blood Prince. What I don’t understand is that ‘Twilight’ is coming out in December, and they have already released a website and a teaser trailer, and HBP is coming in Novemeber, and they are saying that the trailer will be in late June to July? It makes me even more irritated now that its not out yet, and that its going to take an ever longer time then exspected for the trailer.
The poster- as much as I hate to say it, it has an aura of “I’m fake and my only purpose is too taunt you!”
Anyways… I want to get excited, I really do… but I can’t until I get a real WB speech saying: The teaser will be on…(June 20). It’s been to much rumor so much nothing.
hopefully this long wait means that the move is going to be a cracker and they want to keep it underwraps for as long as they can!! xxx well thats what im tell my self!
well nice pic but not terribly interesting as for the fake teaser poster i could do better on my pc with the image editing software i have, and the software isn’t top of the line. Now for WB it seems to me that is they are trying to keep as much secret as they can from the HBP movie that everyone involved may have had to sign writs saying they willsay nothing ffor face consquences and they would tell as few of their employees as humanly possible as the more people that know the more chances for leaks to get out
I knew WB would market HBP like this. What with OOTP thought to be one of the least action type books and not overly loved by people outside the fandom, they marketed it really differently, giving us so much stuff way before the film came out. I always had a sneeky suspicion that once they moved on to HBP we’d get hardly anything… I just never wanted to believe it c’mon Warner Bros., please?!
Argh, this is getting rather frustrating. WB has been teasing us way too much with rumors of possible teaser trailers and crap. They need to just get over with it and release it. Like, seriously, the hype keeps dying down and a lot of people are getting bored with all the rumors and unimportant news, instead moving on to movies and fandoms where they do get news, like (as much as some people will hate me for saying this) the Twilight movies. Their movie comes out later than HBP and they got a teaser trailer like 2 weeks ago.
Much as I hate to say it (because I am frothing at the mouth for this trailer and movie and want them ASAP) but the rule of thumb seems to be the less you hear/see about a movie the better it is. So, while this is driving me abso-freaking-lutely bananas, it is also making me hopeful that this movie is going to befantastic. IhopeIhopeIhopeIhope…..
News flash, the new teaser trailer will come out just after the new Tide commercial advertising their new anti-bleach product just in from France. Their motto will be white begone in one washing or less. Then you will see the trailer of the trailer which will include only a close up of his face, nothing else, with him saying “What?” Then you will cut back to your regularly schedule barrage of ran into the ground commercials. You heard it here first O_o
The more time goes on with only empty rumours of trailers and photos, the less interested I become in HBP (and I am a HUGE Potter fan). Twilight knows how to keep interest and buzz going for their film, and keeps the fans satisfied with just enough pictures, footage, and articles/interviews to make people really excited for the movie. STEP UP YOUR GAME, WB. We have done our part of the bargain by coming out in droves to each HP film, thereby lining your pockets with money. You are not keeping up your end of the (unspoken) deal, and in the process are frustrating the fans and alienating us all.
Millie- Twilight needs the promotion… it NEEDS to have all that stuff out to get buzz going. It’s fanbase is nothing near that of Harry Potter. Harry Potter doesn’t need the early promotion.
Isabel- WB isn’t the one creating the rumors… and the people will be at the theatres whether the trailer is release tomorrow or 3 months from now.
