We have several pieces of news regarding Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince today, including yet more rumors on the long awaited teaser trailer and more.
First, scores of readers let us know about this very small photo that has now surfaced online, showing a different angle of the previously officially released photo of the trio in the common room. While this new photo is small indeed, you can see more of the students sitting in the room.
This photo first surfaced on this site, curiously posted by the person who revealed the earlier photo of what seems to be Harry looking in a filing cabinet from Half-Blood Prince, and who has now apparently posted something that is claimed to be the teaser poster.UPDATE: Thanks much to WB for confirming that yes indeed, that poster is FAKE. We have also received many reports from readers of that site and elsewhere the teaser trailer for HBP will now be shown in front of Get Smart, when that film is released on June 20. Other reports are coming to TLC saying the international trailer will be released in front of the new Batman film, The Dark Knight when that opens in July. While we are as anxious as you for the teaser trailer, please note that all of this is very much unconfirmed, and should remain firmly in the RUMOR category the time being. We have contacted WB to find out more about this new photo, trailer dates and more, and will update of course as soon as we can.
They’re keeping this whole thing shrouded in mystery. Somewhat annoying, but it definetely gets the adrenaline running in anticipation. First they were saying that it night be in front of Narnia, and I went to see it opening day just in case, but I hope it isn’t in front of Get Smart, because I really don’t want to see it, and I would hate to have to pull a “Happy Feet” (pay for a ticket, watch the trailer, leave and get money back). I hope they keep all cave related scenes out of media until the release.
Well, after the failure of OOTP it’s kind of hard to get worked up. Obviously I can’t wait to see it, but for more of a curious-about-how-they’re-gonna-screw-it-up-this-time way
I like the poster, I hope the official poster will look something like that, with Harry and Dumbledore, and something like: “I’m not worried Harry, I’m with you”. One of the most powerful lines of all HP books.
It does feel as if promotion for the movie is behind, but I believe that it is better that WB holds off on releasing so much photos and information. Doesn’t anyone want to see the movie without knowing every single modification and detail beforehand?
Why don’t we have a trailer or more photos yet? I mean it opens in 6 months! They have some trailers at the movies for movies that come out in 2009 already why don’t we have anything??

I personally thought Ootp was the best film so far because it left out so much of the boring stuff (weasley is our king etc). And the reason WB are holding back is because the market has been flooded by overhyped nonsense for most other big releases this year.
This movie is coming out in November, which is a month before the Twilight movie is coming out and they’ve had their teaser trailor out for like a month now… =P hurry upp pplz!!! fjklsajfklasd
I agree with Miriam I loved OoTP, which I can’t say for every HP movie after reading the books. So, I am really excited to see how HBP went with Yates directing.
Also there is no way HP will loose money, because of Twilight. Unless you, for some odd reason, have to chose one or the other, at any rate there is still the international scene, the merchandise, the books, the Time Warner On-Demand features- that is still raking in money from OoTP, and of course DVD sales. I’ll bet the first weekend release of HP in the U.S will be more money than Twillight makes in it’s entire run of theatre in the U.S.
I like the breakdown that was given for the teaser trailers before HP movies were shown in theatres. It adds some perspective to this highly anticipated movie. I defintely think there will be a trailer soon, but I agree to many who state that with HP WB doesn’t have to be so concerned with advertising.
And my money is on Get Smart for the trailer, but I voted in the poll for I don’t really care I’ll watch it on-line, because I won’t go to a movie just because an HP trailer is shown.
@ Jeremy, I agree 100%, because in OoTP some of the scenes I already knew would be in there, I would like to be surprised at what WB, Yates, and David have come up with for the movie. Although, I did like knowing the actors hired, where and when they were filming, that was fun to follow.
I’ve had enough of tiny pictures. Release those high def promo’s, already WB!!
And yeah, I’m now suffering from absense-of-trailer sickness. And I could really do with finally hearing a PoA commentary from the Pottercast people to soothe my pain. hint hint… ;)
Harry Potter is freaking HOTT!!!! he is CUTTEEEEE! i love him man. i heard a rumor he was dead i balded my eyes out i was so sad then later i found out it wasnt true. i was so happy. i love everyone, I’ve read all the books!
"And here we have six missing Death Eaters... three dead in my service. One, too cowardly to return... he will pay. One, who I believe has left me forever... he will be killed, of course... and one, who remains my most faithful servant, and who has alread
